Bear with me...

I think I need a break.  I don't have a crafty post today and I may not for a few days.  Or even a week.  I'm feeling a bit, well, exhausted.  After Abie being sick and the party this weekend I didn't feel like doing much...of anything :)  I sat around most of the day Sunday and that's when the idea of a break began to form.

I don't have anything coming up that I need to make cards for and I am planning on getting my pictures printed this week for Project Life.  So, I told myself that it's OKAY to take a little bit of a break.

I hope you have a great week and I'll see you soon!

The birthday girl's treat boxes.

Happy 10th birthday to my sweet Abie girl.  I can't believe she's 10.  Ten.  A decade.  Mike and I have a ten year old.  Crap.  That's crazy.  She is so sweet, funny, smart, cute, amazing and kind.  I love her.  She is beautiful on the inside and I am overjoyed at the choices she is making with her life.  I am so proud to be her mom.

Bless her heart, she got up this morning, put on her brand new outfit, fixed her hair, we painted her nails last night.  She gets on the bus and...threw up.  Ugh.  Isn't that the way sometimes?  I must say, she's recovering nicely, in bed right now.  We'll see how the day goes.  Hopefully it's just a 24 hour thing.

Her party is tomorrow and these are the treat boxes for the girls.

I bought the zebra take out boxes and tags at Hobby Lobby.

I embellished the tag just a little bit.  My favorite part is it white mailing label that I stamped birthday candles on and then die cut.  It was already sticky on the back which made it super easy to peel and stick right on the tag!  I added each girls initial with a black foam Thicker.

We're taking it easy tonight, here at home and then tomorrow afternoon is the beginning of Abie's party.  Dinner out, bowling and then a sleepover.  Hoping to have a 10 year old at 100% so she can enjoy it.  If not, we'll have to reschedule :)

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll see you soon.  Enjoy your Friday and your weekend!

Simple party invitations.

Morning and happy Thursday :)  I have a quick post today.  Mike is out of town again this week and things are crazy around the house.  Ha!

My two nephews and Abie all have birthdays within days of each other so we always have the family party together.  This year my sister and were trying to figure out when we were going to have the party and we just couldn't get it together.  So the only day that worked was March 17th, the day we were having another family party, and St. Patrick's Day!

Enter simple party invite...

I stamped the letters with Lawn Fawn's Quinn's Alphabet, love that!  Originally I was going to color in the letters with rainbow colors, but once we decided on 3/17 Mom suggested I use different shades of green, and add a shamrock.  So that's exactly what I did.  Thanks Mom!

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow!  Have a great Thursday!

WOYWW

Happy Wednesday and here we are, another round of WOYWW!  I know this last week flew by for me, but I'm guessing that was because of the Monday holiday.  Why can't every Monday be a holiday?  :)

I'm linking up with JULIA over at the Stamping Ground along with hundreds of other bloggers to show what I'm working on this fine Wednesday!

I am stamping on some mailing labels and then die cutting them with my Cuttlebug.

There are some of the die cut banners, birthday candles are the stamp of choice :)  These are going on some fun tags, do you see them there, above the Cuttlebug handle?  Then the tags are going on the zebra take out boxes which will be the goodie boxes for Abie's birthday party this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll see you tomorrow :)  Have a beautiful day!

New stuff!

Good morning everyone!  Did you have a nice weekend?  We did tons of fun family stuff and even some non family stuff.  It was a great mix.

On Sunday we made a trip to Archiver's.  It's about 35-40 minutes from our house.  I usually go when I'm at work because it's only like 15 minutes from my office.  But this way Mike was able to hit a couple of places up that way that he wanted to go to and Abie was able to browse through Archiver's with me.  Poor Landry just got schleped around ;)

So here's my Archiver's haul.  (sorry all the pics are separate...  I didn't think about a group photo until after I'd uploaded all of these)

Some fun twine in awesome neutral colors!  Super excited to make some cards with this!

I've never had these tiny stickers before, or many letter stickers at all for that matter, but Mary Jo mentioned awhile back how much she loved these so I thought I would give them a try.  I'm planning on using them in my Project Life album since they're small and nice and flat!

I grabbed these Ali Edwards stamps, mainly for Project Life.  They were with the Valentines stuff, but I think they'll work well for everyday things too.  Aren't they sweet?  We say "smooch" a lot in our house!  :)

Ah man, I was super excited when I found these stamps.  I was looking for that little banner.  I found another set that was like $15.99 that had two or three banners and then I found this one, which was the real one I wanted and this set was like $6.49!  Well I had no idea, once I got home how much I would LOVE this set!  I think it will be kept with my Project Life stuff permanently!

Loved this 6x6 pad for the fun spring colors!

Have you seen these Amy Tangerine books?  I saw them online and wasn't sure, but when I saw it in person I had to buy it, for two reasons 1)  I want to make a gratitude journal with it and 2) I wanted to better see how it was assembled so I could make my own :)  Haha!  Do you ever do that?  The only thing I don't care for with this is how fat it is.  I feel like I need to set four or five bricks on it to smoosh it down, near the binding.  It's super thick, and that's before there's anything even in it!

Okay, you still with me?  :)  On Friday I made a trip to Staples to check out the Martha Stewart goodness that everyone has been talking about.  I was a bit disappointed.  I'm kind of cheap and Martha is REALLY proud of her stuff.  So, this was all I ended up getting:

I've been putting labels on some of my photos in my PL album and I really like the way it looks, so that was why I picked these up.  FYI, $2.99 for 120 labels.  We'll see how well they stick.  Haha.

Now, yesterday Abie and I went out to pick up some stuff for her party this weekend and while I was at Joann's I found this:

Tammy has talked about this punch recently and I got so excited about the way she used it for Project Life that I had to pick it up (with a 40% off coupon of course!)  I can totally use this on cards too!  Excuse the rip in the package, I was trying to tear into it and then thought, "oh, wait take a picture first!"  Ha!

So, that's my weekend haul.  I felt like it had been forever since I had bought anything.  What have you been buying lately?  I'd LOVE to hear :)  I hope you have a GREAT Tuesday and I'll see you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Baby Card.

Happy Friday!!!!!  I'm so excited it's Friday and even more excited it's a three day weekend and even MORE excited that Mike is home with us on Monday!  Can't even tell you how excited I am!

Last Saturday I had a baby shower to go to.  Last week was crazy busy for me and I had no time to make a gift or even shop off the registry!  So a gift card it was.  What do do you need when you give a gift card?  Why a vessel with which to deliver said gift card.  That I did have time for.  I ALWAYS try to make time for crafting :)

The baby is going to be a girl, so the card leans a little more to the girly side, but it's still in neutral yellow and green.  What says baby more than polka dots?  Am I right?

I cut out the doily with my Papertrey dies and added a cardstock sticker that I stamped my sentiment on to.  I love how that turned out.  It still needed something though, enter handmade, butterfly stick pin annnnnd finished!

We have Volleyball in the morning and then Mike and I are heading to the hockey game tomorrow night with my cousin for their Pink Game.  Should be a good time.  No plans the rest of the weekend, except to finish up invitations and I should probably start working on party favors for the Slumber Party NEXT weekend...  Whew!

Thanks for popping in today and I hope you have an AWESOME Friday and a rockin' good weekend!  See you soon!

Project Life Week #5

Morning all!  Quick post today :)  I have week five of Project Life to share today...

A pretty simple spread this week.  I feel bad posting this without pictures, but I still love having the week "done" and get excited!

Abie starts Art Club, way cool, and has her last Volleyball practice.  Mike is out of town so mom and dad are going to pick her up and bring her home for me so Landry can go ahead and get into bed.  How awesome are they?  Love them!  Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll be back tomorrow with a card!

WOYWW

Hello Wednesday.  What's on your workdesk today?  I'm going to show you what I have on mine and if you want to check out some more head on over to JULIA'S blog!

I'm currently working on some more birthday party invitations.  Pretty boring desk today, but you know I do like to work in a clean space :)

I hope you have a beautiful Wednesday and I'll see you tomorrow.  Thank you for stopping by today.  Sometimes work really sucks, or the kids are crazy, or Mike is out of town and I really find peace in crafting.  So getting to share that with all of you AND THEN to have you comment on it, well, it's just pretty cool.  So thank you :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  Today I want to share with you the tags I made for the girls presents.

On Abie's I added a heart shaped doily, a post it from Target and a pre made 3-D heart.  Super quick and easy.

For Landry's I cut apart a circle doily and made it overlap itself in the front.  I should have taken a picture of the back, because that totally doesn't make sense does it?  Then I wrapped around some torn fabric, buttons and a little tag.  Again, super simple!

Abie was asking all weekend to go shopping and get a new outfit for Valentine's Day.  We kept telling her no because we bought her a new outfit to wear today!  I hope she likes it :)

Do you have plans for tonight?  We're doing our usual, eat in dinner with the girls.  We've done the chocolate fountain for dessert the last couple of years, but since it's a school night and kind of a pain to clean up, we're opting for ice cream sundaes.

I hope you have a lovely Tuesday and I'll see you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Birthday Invitations

Good morning and a happy new week to you!  We have a snow day here today, which derailed my plans a wee bit, but that's what snow does, isn't it?  Funny thing is, we haven't gotten any snow this year, except for a tiny bit back in November, so the weathermen, among others, are acting like this small storm is a blizzard.  People, it's going to be sunny and 40 tomorrow, it will melt away by then.

Today is a holiday for me, Lincoln's birthday, so I was off from work to begin with.  I had grand plans of getting caught up on some crafting projects and maybe some reading, but now...  :)  We'll see how the day goes.

Today I want to share with you Abie's birthday invitations for her 10 year birthday party!!!  She's really big into zebra print right now.  (anyone remember how LAST YEAR it was lime green and aqua?)  So when I saw these blank cards at Hobby Lobby a couple of months ago, I knew they would be perfect for her invites!

These were fairly quick and easy to make.   I cut out the numbers with my Cricut and then ran them trough my Xyron and sprinkled them with Martha Stewart black glitter.  How awesome is black glitter?

Then I added the Thickers and a few black rhinestones.  Done!

Okay folks, I'm out for know.  The girls are still asleep and I'm hoping to be productive before they get up.  See you again tomorrow!  Have a fab Monday!!

Abie's Valentines.

Yah Friday!!  So excited for the weekend!!  I got a lot done this week, still have a lot to do this weekend, but enough off my plate that I can enjoy myself!

I'm posting Abie's Valentines today.  She designed these herself :)  I trimmed out all the 3x3 pieces and she did all the cutting (of the overlays), writing and assembly.

Fabulous job, don't you think?  ;)

The Valentine paper was two sided so even the back of the card is pretty!

Yesterday KATIE gave me this awesome award!  If you haven't been over to Katie's blog before, you should go check her out.  She has a little bit of everything.  Layouts, home decor, food, photography, funny stories and the cutest haircut EVER ;)

This award goes to awesome, up and coming blogs, with under 200 followers.  I need to pass it along to five other people.  So here goes...

1)  Joh She has some amazing layouts, a cute cat and I always get a little chuckle every time I read her
     posts!

2)  Vanessa Her blog is little mix of everything.  I love all the do it yourself ideas she comes up with!

3)  Schell Oh how I love Schell :)  She is the sweetest, bestest thing EVER!  She can color like
nobody's business with Bics AND colored pencils and do things with a Cricut I've never seen
     before!

4)  Mary Jo I feel a special bond with Mary Jo because she lives in St. Louis and I live in KC:)  But I
love her layouts and she made the cutest mini album awhile back!  She's currently working in an            album for her mother in law that I'm anxious for her to share!

5)  Tammy Tammy has the most amazing tips, advice, layouts I could go on and on about her.  She is        just awesome!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoy your weekend and I'll see you soon!

Landry's Valentines.

Man, can you believe it's already Thursday?  This week has flown by.  I took the day off today, the girls have dentist appointments.  I'm going to try and work on Abie's birthday invitations this morning before I pick them up to head to the dentist.

Landry and I finished up her Valentines last night.

I trimmed and scored the 3x3 cards and trimmed the white card stock.  Landry did all the punching :)  She thought hearts would be appropriate.  Ha!

She also did ALL of the stamping.  Some looked like this... :)

But a lot of them looked like this, and I was so proud of her! This was a rubber stamp too!

I was telling KATIE yesterday how hard it was for me to give up control of the Valentines and let Landry do this.  I want my cards to look perfect, even the kids, so it was a pretty difficult task for me.  In the end, I'm glad I relinquished a bit of control.  It was so much fun for Landry and I got a kick out of watching her!

In other "loss of control" news, I trimmed out the pieces for Abie's Valentines last night.  She came up with her own card design this year!  I trimmed, she assembled.  It worked out rather well.  Stop back by tomorrow and I'll share Abie's Valentines with you.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Enjoy your Thursday :)

WOYWW

Happy Wednesday and thank goodness for the midway point of the week!  I'm linking up over at JULIA'S BLOG this week and sharing what I have on my workdesk.

This is the opposite of my desk from what you usually see.  Do you like my helper?  :)  Landry (4 years old) is stamping the images for her Valentine cards.  I trimmed out the 2 3/4x 2 3/4 white cardstock and gave her two stamps and two different ink pads and she went to town.  Sorry for the blurry hands, she was moving FAST!  See all those punched hearts?  Landry punched those out too.  She thought they might look nice on the front of her cards.  This little one makes me smile :)

So, what do you have on your workdesk today?  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow!  Have a beautiful Wednesday :)

Project Life Week #4

Good morning everyone :)  I want to share week four of Project Life with you.  This week I have pictures!!  You know my plan was to get my pictures printed off at the end of the month and so far so good!

I got a little crazy this week and added some labels to my pictures!  Oooohhhh :)  I actually wish I could find some different kind of labels, locally, so I wouldn't have to use my cardstock stickers.  I'm on the prowl...

I also added a 6x12 insert for the program and some other stuff from this week.  I thought I would really like this size but honestly, it's just kind of awkward.

We had such a busy weekend.  Non-stop from Friday night to late Sunday night.  I even asked the girls if they wanted to BUY their Valentines this year.  Haha!  They said no, they want to make them.  So, we're working on those this week, along with Abie's birthday invitations.  I also have a baby shower Saturday that I need to make a gift card holder for.  Lots of things to craft but not a lot of time = a problem!

I hope you're all doing well.  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll be back tomorrow.  Have a great Tuesday!

A pouch full of goodness!

Yah Friday!  Who's excited???  I'm super ready for this weekend.  I have a little pouch to share with you today.  It's a gift for my cousin, an ankle bracelet.  I had originally intended on getting one of those little jewelry boxes from Michaels, but I didn't make it over to the store in time.  So I improvised.

I've had these little pouches for years and when I saw them on my shelf I knew they would be perfect to hold the bracelet.

I stamped the background with Momento London Fog ink (really love that soft grey color) and then fixed up a fun little tag to add to the top of the pouch.

Here's the back of the pouch.  Don't you love the closure?

So, tonight I'm heading over to my cousin's house for a little party and then tomorrow morning we're heading off for more Volleyball :)  On Sunday we have a Super Bowl party to go to at a friends house.  I'm hoping that I'll be able to get some things crafted in between Volleyball and the Super Bowl :)  What are your plans this weekend?

Thanks for coming by today.  I'll see you soon!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Finished!

Hey there!  I'm back today with my finished Valentine Envies.  You know, I keep calling them that, but really they're baggies.  Call them whatever you want, I think they turned out SUPER fun!

Here's the group photo :)

I used two different embossing folders ...

And similarly decorated the fronts of each baggy.  I wrote several of the notes to the girls and Mike wrote the others :)  They read their first one yesterday and thought it was great!

HERE is a link to the original photo I pinned on Pinterest.  I think those baggies are a lot bigger though since they have gifts and things in them.  Still super cute though, right?

We're still enjoying some fantastic weather here, for winter.  Volleyball tonight so Landry and I will be enjoying a quiet evening at home after Mike and Abie head off to practice.  Have a beautiful Thursday and I'll see you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by today!

WOYWW

Happy Wednesday and happy WOYWW!  I'm linking up over at JULIA'S BLOG today and sharing my work space along with hundreds of others.

This is a little pouch I'm working on for a gift that is going to my cousin.  If you'll notice, in the background I have the doily stamps pulled up on my Rolodex.  I do in fact use my Rolodex stamp index and it comes in VERY handy when picking out stamps :)

What's on your work space today?  Anything fun or interesting?  Is it all cleared off and ready for a new project or is it piled with new goodies?

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a lovely Wednesday.  I'll be back tomorrow with my finished Valentine Envies :)  See you then!
