WOYWW

Hey there!  Sorry to not post for a couple of days, but I just didn't get my pictures uploaded to the computer and we've been busy enjoying summer, even though it's been cool and rainy here.

Today I'm linking up over at Julia's blog, THE STAMPING GROUND to share my work space and what I'm working on.

Not too much going on here.  I picked up this fun package of tickets and tags at Hobby Lobby a few weeks back and I'm just now getting around to opening it.  I have a couple of ideas brewing for some office type cards that I think I'll throw together with them.  I'm in the process of moving a few things around in the old craft room, as best I can in the interim that is.  So maybe next week I'll have a bigger shot of the desk, or a cleaner shot anyway :)

Thanks for stopping in today and I'll be back tomorrow with last weeks decorated Filofax pages!!  Have a beautiful Wednesday :)

Tracy's Birthday card.

Hey there!  So happy it's Thursday today!!!  Yesterday was my friend TRACY'S birthday and I wanted to share the card I made for her.

This was not quite how I expected it to turn out, but no card I make ever is.  Haha!  I stamped on a very pale patterned paper, but it didn't photograph well.

Thanks for stopping by on this awesome Thursday!  I hope you have a fantastic day!!  See you tomorrow!

WOYWW

Yay for Wednesday!  Today I'm linking up over at Julia's, THE STAMPING GROUND to share what I'm working on.

I picked up that $1 thank you stamp at Target and couldn't wait to try it out!  I'm not sure where this card will end up, but that's what I have on my desk right now :)

I want to take a minute and wish a very happy birthday to my fabulous friend, TRACY.  She is smart and funny and I so, SO crafty!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!!!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll be back tomorrow :)

Chalkboard

So I've been wanting a chalkboard for a long time, for our front porch.  I saw one a few years ago on a blog and it was the cutest thing ever!  I've had my eye out for one, ever since.  Always checking flea markets, thrift shops and antique stores, but never finding exactly what I had in mind.

Well, right before the fourth of July, I had a brainstorm.  I had seen tons of frames turned into chalkboards and I thought, why not buy a GIANT frame and use that as my chalkboard?  I headed to Hobby Lobby and picked up this frame.

I found this picture, originally $59.99, marked down to $6.  I brought it home, took the back off, glass out and sanded the shine off.  Then I took yellow acrylic paint and watered it down a bit.  I dry brushed it on the frame for a more weathered look.

Mike cut a piece of board to fit the frame and I put three, or maybe four, coats of chalkboard paint on it.  Then I tied a piece of chalk to the frame with some baker's twine and wrote a message!

I love my new front porch chalkboard and all for only $6!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great Tuesday!  I'll see you all tomorrow!!

A new puppy!

Happy Monday friends! I'm happy to tell you that we added a new member to the family over the weekend!

A few weeks ago we had to have our twelve year old Saint Bernard/Lab put to sleep. It broke our hearts. If you have pets, you know they become such a huge part of your lives. We knew we would have another dog someday, but didn't know when.  Well that day was Saturday!

I would love for you to meet Dirk!  He's an 8 month old German Shepherd, full of energy, but so sweet! He is super smart and doing so well with our family already.
Thanks for letting me share this non crafty post today. I'll be back tomorrow with something fun and crafty :) Have a beautiful Monday!!

A new card for Friday!

Yay Friday!!  What are your plans this weekend?  Mike and Abie are going to the Royals game Saturday night, he won two tickets and we couldn't get a babysitter so he's taking her :)  Landry and I are having a Christmas in July night!  We're going to order Chinese food, watch Christmas movies in our PJ's and drink hot chocolate :)

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my Grandad's birthday earlier this month.  I knew I wanted to use this background stamp and I already had the aqua base cut out.  The rest of it just sort of came together.

This stamp is so weird, because of the texture.  I think I would use it more if it was just solid.  I wonder how I would like it on patterned paper?  Hmm...

I hope you have a great Friday night and a wonderful weekend!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Project Life catch up, weeks 23-27

Happy weekend eve!  You know I love my Thursdays :)  Today is no exception!!  I'm sharing a few weeks of Project Life today.

Week #23, the week I was in New Orleans and Mike was at home with the girls :)

Week #24, the week Landry learned how to ride her bike!!

Week #25, lots of summer fun.  Amusement parks, swimming and being silly.

Week #26, beautiful skies and a Harley ride :)

Week #27, the week we were on vacation!!

I finished up week number 28 last night, but don't have it photographed yet.  I've gotten in a pretty good habit of sitting down for a few minutes each week and working on this.  I'll tell you, if it wasn't for my phone and my Selphy, this project would be a whole lot harder!  Haha!

Thanks for popping in today.  I hope you have a great weekend eve and I'll be back tomorrow with a new card!

Birthday party craft/book/and favor all rolled into one!

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  Today I'm sharing with you the little book that I made and then the girls decorated at Landry's birthday party.  Waaaaay back on June 29th!

I had the pages pre-made before everyone came.

I had all the holes punched and even the ribbons cut.

Throughout the night I took pictures of the fun things the girls were doing.  Decorating cupcakes...

Swimming...

And with each gift that Landry opened, I snapped a quick photo of here and her friend with the present.  (this is Landry's book so it looks slightly different than the guest's books did)  That night, I printed out all the photos and adhered them to the books.  Thank you cell phone and Canon Selphy!

The next morning while the girls were patiently waiting for donuts to arrive, I passed out the books to each of the girls along with stickers and markers.  They had a fun time decorating their books.  I included a blank page for them to write about what their most fun memory of the night was.  Then I gave each of the books to Landry and on the back page, I had her write a quick thank you to each of her guests for the gift they had brought.

I quickly bound the books with pink and purple ribbon and they were finished!  Super fun and really, pretty easy with just a minimal amount of planning.

one 6x6 paper pad
cereal boxes for the front and back covers
two packages of stickers
ribbon from my stash

The supplies listed above made four 5x5 books.  The inside pages were just double sided cardstock from the paper pad.

For those of you that have been keeping track, Abie got the call yesterday to play on the 12 Up team for her club.  She is super excited about next season, which doesn't officially start until November, but I'm sure we'll have some things going on before then :)  She had her last recreational volleyball game last night, for summer and Landry had swim lessons.  She is doing an amazing job, I can't believe the amount of progress she has made in just a week and half!  So proud of my girls!!  Thanks for stopping in today and I'll be back tomorrow with either a Project Life update or a new card.  Have an absolutely beautiful Wednesday my friends!

Guess what I got back...

My computer!!!!  Mike got the call yesterday afternoon that it was ready so after the girls and I finished up at the library we ran over there and picked it up.  Let me tell you, I have never seen a more beautiful thing!  I was so grateful to the two men who fixed it and I promised them that I would never stick my ear buds where they don't belong.  Haha!  (remember, that's how I cracked my screen)

So, I'm happy to say, today I'm posting a new card.  I created this almost two weeks ago and took a photo of it with my big camera.  It's been long gone in the mail, so there was no way to retake the photo with my phone.

No stamping on this.  I just used a, Simple Stories I think, 6x6 pad and added a couple of embellishments.  It really doesn't get much easier than that, now does it?

I have Project Life updates to share, a birthday book the girls made from Landry's slumber party, another card, a chalkboard, all kinds of fun stuff this week!  Landry has her last week of swim lesson this week and Abie has her last two summer volleyball games.  Busy week, but good :)

Thanks for sticking with me through my lull and I'll be back tomorrow with another project or card or something!  See you then!!

New cup.

Good morning! Did you have a nice weekend?  Abie had volleyball tryouts on Saturday morning and then that night we got together with our neighbors. We had a great time! Sunday was a gorgeous day and we swam and made yummy kabobs for dinner!

Today, I still don't have my laptop, so I don't have anything crafty to share, but I'm going to share a picture of my new cup!  It's so fun and it could definitely be some crafty inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you soon!

Still no laptop.

Hey guys! Still no laptop :( but I know it's getting fixed so that gives me piece of mind.

I thought I would share with you my manicure today. Sometimes I see someone's nails and then I obsess over them until it try them out for myself. Ha! The other day I saw nails similar to these on Sally Hansen's Twitter page and tried them out last night.

I'm hoping to get my laptop back today or tomorrow! Abie has volleyball tryouts this weekend and we have a super fun Saturday night planned! Thanks for sticking with me through my hiatus. Haha! See you soon!

I'm here, but maybe only for today...

Good morning! We had a wonderful week last week and I'm sad to see it come to an end. We did lots of fun things around the house and city and lots of relaxing too.

One thing we did was drop my laptop off to get the screen fixed! Yay! It should be ready by the end of this week. The problem with blogging is, I took pictures of my crafty projects last week with my camera and not my phone, so I'm not sure how I'll post, until I get my laptop back.

I snapped this photo last night, after Landry and I finished working on her Thank You Cards.

Hopefully I get my laptop back soon and things are back to normal around here!

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope to see you soon!!
