Card with my sequin pouch.

Happy Friday!!  Yesterday I posted my sequin inspired pouch.  Michelle Wooderson has been making these and I just LOVE them!!  Today I want to share with you the card I made with my sequin pouch.

Once I had the pouch made, this card came together so quickly!  I distressed the background quite a bit to offset the bold colors of the sequins.  I love those Amy Tangerine letters!!

Do you have big plans this weekend?  We have a couple of things to do Saturday, but nothing that's on a timetable.  Mike will be gone on Sunday, maybe the girls and I can squeeze in a trip to the pool.  I hope you have a beautiful Friday and fab weekend!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you soon!

Sequin Pouch

Morning everyone!  I want to share with you today a fun little project.  I've seen a lot of people out there using sequins in some fun ways.  Michelle Wooderson and Ashli Oliver to name a two :)  I combined the two and came up with this...

I used a jewelry bag, just like Michelle Wooderson, to bag up my sequins and added some washi tape.  I adhered both to a small kraft bag and topped it with a scrunched text flower!  I first saw these flowers on Dawn McVey's blog.  I finally picked up a scallop circle punch the other day and was able to make some of these flowers!  I love how they turned out too.  If you look closely, I misted the layers for some added dimension.

Stop back by tomorrow for a look at a card I made with this little sequin pouch.  Have a wonderful Thursday and I'll see you tomorrow :)

WOYWW

So last week I missed out on WOYWW but it feels like it's been months!  I'm happy to be back at it this week!  I'm linking up over at JULIA'S BLOG to post what is on my workdesk today.

Yesterday I posted a picture of some fun new stuff I picked up and today I'm getting to play with some of that fun stuff!  I'm getting some use out of my new punch and sequins along with some old washi tape.  The box is what I used to spray some mist in.  I think I need a different box though, the sides kept falling in on that one and it was really bugging me :)

Hope you have a great Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow!!

Small haul.

Good Tuesday morning everyone.  I know it's a bit late, but did you have a nice weekend?  Ours was very, VERY busy.  In fact, I felt a bit like I didn't have a weekend.  On Saturday I took Abie for a bit of belated school clothes shopping and Mike took Landry to run some errands.  Then we spent some time with the neighbors that night.  Abie had two friends stay over.  Sunday my sister and I went to lunch with our mom, for her birthday.  By the time I got home, it was literally time to start on dinner!

While mom and I were out on Sunday, we ran into Joann's.  I haven't been into Joann's in, probably, months!  I had several coupons and found a few things that I just couldn't live without ;)

The punches were buy one, get one 1/2 off.  I've been wanting a scallop punch like that for awhile now and I figured why not!  I've seen some fab things out there with sequins and jewelry bags, so I'm super excited about those!!  Then we were headed towards the door and I spotted the Amy Tangerine woodgrain letters and fell in love!  Plus I needed something to boost me over the $35 mark so I could use my other coupon!  Haha!

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow to see what I'm working on.  Several of these items will be making an appearance!  Thanks for popping in today friends.  Have a fantastic day today!!

Abie's Crayon Card.

Good morning and happy Friday!  Today I want to share with you a card that Abie made.  She was inspired by a crayon canvas that she saw somewhere, and I'm sure you've seen them on Pinterest.  Abie came home, after seeing the canvas, and was SO excited to make a card!

She picked out her crayons and painstakingly matched paints to them.  She then glued down her crayons and applied her paints :)  I love it!!

The girls had an even better second day of school than the first day :)  I just love to see them after the day is over and hear their stories, makes me happy.  We're going to take them out tonight to celebrate the end of the first week.  It's a pretty low key weekend around here, might be doing something with my mom and sister, but not sure yet.  We're having a nice stretch of beautiful weather and we're really enjoying it.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and a fantastic Friday!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you soon.

Hello Card.

I must say, the first day of school was a success!  Both girls had fabulous days and I was so excited to see their smiling faces when they got off the bus :)

Today I want to share a simple card with you.  I wasn't sure where I was going with it when I started.  I went downstairs and had a half of a white card base on my desk that I trimmed down to 4x4.

Then I added a piece of washi tape across the middle.  I made a fluffy twine bow with a button, a banner scrap and some mist and I was done!  Next time I might mist first :)  The misting was a last minute idea...

That's it for me today.  Hope you have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping by!!

Kindergarten Card.

Can you believe it's Wednesday?  It's the first day of school for my girls and a special one at that.  Abie starts 5th grade today, her last year of elementary school and Landry starts Kindergarten!  I'm going in to work late today and was planning on letting them sleep in, etc, but those stinkers were up by 6:15 AM!  As I was typing this blog post!  Haha!  I love that they are both so excited about school and LOVE school so much!  Makes me happy.

Today I'm going to share the card I made for Landry, to give to her this morning.  (I shared Abie's card a week or so ago)

This was a card that came to me in the middle of the night :)  I was struggling with what I wanted to do for Landry and then this popped into my head.  Perfect for her!  Let me tell you though, This little girl stamp is one of those $1 We Are Memory Keepers Stamps that matches one of their paper lines, right?  Well, they're not the best quality.  Anyway, I stamped the yellow girl first, with Distress Ink.  It kind of bled.  I'm not very fluent in Distress Ink, but it is NOT WRMK stamp friendly :)  Haha!  I used Momento ink on the other two and it stamped beautifully!

I'm off to get ready for work and to get the girls ready for school.  We'll do pictures on the front porch and all that fun stuff!  I hope your kids have a great first day, if it's today, and all of the teachers out there are blessed with perfect kids and an ideal classrooms this year ;)  Thanks for popping in today and I'll see you tomorrow!

Susan G. Komen Race.

Morning everyone!  It's been a busy one around here.  After working late three days in a row last week, which never happens with my job, thankfully, I was just exhausted!  Then on Saturday we ran around and got some last minute things for school this week.

On Sunday we all got up early and headed downtown to do the Susan G. Komen Race with my cousin and the rest of my family.  If you remember last year we did this race, shortly after my cousin was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She's made it through chemotherapy and a double mastectomy and is now having Herceptin injections every three weeks until the end of December.

This year she wore the pink Survivor's t-shirt and was able to walk the 3.1 miles instead of just the 1 mile like last year.  Crazy how things can change in a year, isn't it?

It's so cool to be a part of this and see all the people participating in this event.

Here's Abie at the finish line and to the left there are my parents!  My Dad pushed Landry in the stroller for the whole race!  Thanks Dad!!

Mike ran first, 20 minutes and 31 seconds, man he's fast, and then met up with us and walked :)  It was a great day!

Thanks for stopping by today, sorry about the non-crafty post :)  Hope you have a beautiful day and I'll see you tomorrow.

CFC 64

Morning everyone!  Today I'm linking up over at CAS-UAL FRIDAYS with their challenge for this week.

This week the challenge was to make a clean and simple project featuring things you'd see in the sky!  How fun is that?

This is what I came up with...

I started out with a sky blue card base and misted it with Mr. Huey's.  Then I just added a punched cloud, butterfly and double banners with my sentiment.  For just a little something extra, I placed a white pearl on the butterfly and next to my sentiment.  If you don't count the drying time of the mist...this card came together so quick!

Well, one day of training down, one day to go :)  and then tomorrow is Friday!!  Hope you have a fantastic Thursday.  Thanks for stopping in today and I'll see you tomorrow.

WOYWW

Wednesday already!  We're in our last full week of summer vacation here, but my girls are really excited for school to start, so that's okay.  Today I'm linking up at THE STAMPING GROUND where the fabulous Julia is hosting What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Tons of crafters from around the world are sharing what they're working on today.

Here's what is on my desk...

I'm working on a card for another challenge, I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to challenges at the moment.  Right now I'm waiting for the Mr. Huey's to dry.  Tick tock, tick tock :)  I know I could speed up the process with my heat gun, but sometimes I think it adds to the splatter, so this time I've opted for the natural drying process!

Well, I have training the next two days for work and have to work late on Friday, what's the silver lining you ask?  I get to leave early a couple of days next week :)  Hope you have a fab Wednesday and thanks for stopping by today.  I'll see you tomorrow!

Paper Players #107

Okay, this time I'm going to make the deadline, days in advance in fact, over at The Paper Players!  Haha!  This week the challenge was to make a Back to School themed project.  Perfect because I needed to finish up the gifts for the girls teachers and this was JUST the motivation I needed!

I made a belly band to go around this cup and then decorated the front of it with a few schoolish themed things.  I really love that little girl :)

For the gift, I got the idea from Pinterest.  You take one of those insulated straw cups and make a divider out of paper.  Then fill each of the divided sections with school supplies or candy or other goodies.  I made two, one for each of the girls teachers.

Are you making any back to school goodies this year?  I love all the school stuff, but find that I never use it like I think will so have learned not to buy it all up :)

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be back tomorrow.  Have a beautiful Tuesday!!

Freshly Made Sketches #46

Morning!  Today I'm playing along over at FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES.  It's been a long time since I've played with one of their sketches, but as you know I've been on the quest to get my mojo back and joining in on challenges has been the way for me to do that.

Here's this weeks sketch:

I slightly modified the sketch, turned the card and added a tab on the side of my Spellbinders Label Die instead of using a strip of paper or ribbon.  I felt like the background paper was busy enough and didn't want to make it too much.  This card will go to my oldest for her first day of school which is, you guessed it, August 15th.

Did you have a good weekend?  Ours flew by here, busy getting things ready for school and enjoying some nice weather!!  I have a couple of pretty busy weeks ahead of me.  Hoping I can keep my head on straight :)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

PP#106

ETA:  I tried to link up with The Paper Players this morning.  The link was supposed to be open until noon today, but it was already closed :(  Maybe next week!

Yay for Friday!!  I'm playing along with a new challenge today, The Paper Players!  The challenge this week was Tic Tac Toe:

I chose circles, dry embossing and punches.

Lots and lots of circles going on in this card :)  I dry embossed this card, with circles.  Then used my circle punches to punch out more circles in rainbow colors.  I placed them around on my card until they made me happy.

Then I picked out a sentiment that I like and manipulated it until it fit on the circle.

That's it for me today.  Thanks for stopping by :)  Hope you have a beautiful Friday and a fab weekend.  I'll see you soon!

CFC 63

Morning and happy Thursday to you!  I can't believe it's Thursday already!  This week has flown by for me.

Today I'm sharing a card I made for Casual Fridays Challenge this week.  It was a color challenge and it was just what I needed to get my mojo going again!

The colors were lime green, aqua and navy.  I used PTI Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse and Enchanted Evening.

I stamped my Studio Calico/Hero Arts sunburst in Hawaiian Shores ink onto my Hawaiian Shores card base, I love that tone on tone look.  Then I just layered on all my other pieces.  Once I got going the card came together pretty quick!

Hope you have a beautiful Thursday.  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll be back tomorrow with another card for another challenge!

WOYWW

It's Wednesday so that means I'm linking up over at JULIA'S fabulous blog to share what I'm working on, along with hundreds of other crafters.

I've been in a bit of a rut lately.  Not sure it it's the weather, or the fact that we've been lazy because it's summer, or if it's just that I'm lazy, but I haven't been crafting a whole lot.  Only when I need a card or a tag, and of course keeping up with my Project Life.  Well on Tuesday I decided I would check out some of the old challenges that I use to participate in, almost weekly.

I found a couple that A)  I really like and B) I hadn't missed the deadline on yet :)  So that's what is on my desk right now.  A rut buster.

Lots of die cutting, a little bit of stamping and all it all started from a color challenge!  I'll have the finished card posted tomorrow.  What do you do to bust out of your rut?

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm thrilled it's already Wednesday and really hope we get the rain they're calling for tonight.  Have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow!
