Last testing card.

How about that for a blog post title?  Haha!  Happy Friday to you all!!!  We took Landry last night to Kindergarten registration.  I can't believe it, my baby is going to start Kindergarten!  She was so excited to go meet the teachers.  She has been to the school a million times with us for things for Abie, but this was different because this was for her.  :)

Today I want to share with you the last card I made to send in for Abie's testing week at school.  I think this one might be my favorite.

I used my Lawn Fawn Quinn's Alphabet and stamped the words with Momento ink.  After the ink dried, I colored in the letters with a rainbow of Bics :)  How happy is that?  Love it!

Do you have anything exciting going on this weekend?  We're having a neighborhood barbecue Saturday.  It's supposed to be 87 on Saturday and 88 on Sunday!  Crazy right?  I'm seriously hoping to get my room back in order too :)  I hope you have a great weekend!!!!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you soon!

A few new goodies.

Morning and happy weekend eve!  You know last weekend Mike and I were Springfield.  Well guess what?  There's a scrapbooking store there :)  Actually I think there are a couple of stores there, but we only had time to visit one.  Scrapbook Generation, have you heard of it?  They publish a little sketchbook called Sketches for Scrapbooking and Sketches for Cardmaking :)  I had been by the store once, years ago, and it hasn't changed too much.  Still has TONS of product.  My kind of store.  Ha!

Here's what I picked up...

This little packet of buttons and stick pins.  I think it's MME, but not sure.  I LOVE stick pins!

I also picked up these MME stamps.  The last set I bought I just LOVED for my Project Life so when I saw these, I knew they would be perfect for the same thing.  And at $5.99, who could resist a whole set of stamps?  Gah, I'm obsessed with those stamps!!!!

And, of course, I couldn't leave without one of their sketchbooks!!!  I decided on the cardmakers sketchbook since I am using Project Life for my scrapbooking now.  I'll let you know how I like the book, you know, once I'm finished with my BIG re-organization :) and can get back to crafting!!

I'm heading off to the grocery store today after work.  I'm hoping to work a little bit more in my craft area tonight so I can create a little bit this weekend!  Have a wonderful Thursday friends!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow!!

WOYWW

Happy Wednesday and happy WOYWW!  What's on your workdesk Wednesday, hosted by the lovely and talented JULIA!  Head on over to her blog and check out all the other desks and work spaces to see what everyone else is up to.

My desk this week is in transition.  Much more clean than last week, but only because I'm getting ready to move things around and didn't want to start a project yet.

So my desk is pretty clear, right?  Right.

I'm getting ready to move my bookcase (see below picture) to the right of this table.

This is the bookcase I'm talking about.  Then I'm going to re-arrange some things on this.

And then I'll move my 4ft white table (see above picture) next to this white desk.  Makes complete sense, right?  Ha!

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow!

October Afternoon card.

Do you ever have a hard time coming up with creative blog post titles?  Ha!  Today I'm posting a second card I made to send in for Abie's testing next month.  This one I used all October Afternoon goodies on.  Not only did it come together quick, but it was kind of a no brainer for me.  A two for one!

I flipped through my miscellany pack and found this flashcard, how perfect for a school card!

So I've come to a few decisions in the craft area.  I'm going to try and re-arrange my sewing table and my small desk, oh and my tall bookshelf.  Basically a flip flop.  Then I'm going to clear my main desk off, except for my trimmer and tool caddy.  It's going to take a bit of work, but I think I'll feel much more "free" once it's done.  Haha!  I really like to have a clean workspace and right now I still have so much stuff on my desk I think swiping it all off and starting over is the way to go!  I have to say I've been inspired by Michelle Wooderson's posts the last few days.  It was the final piece of the organization puzzle I've been looking for!

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you again tomorrow :)  Have a beautiful Tuesday friends!

Dear Lizzy card.

Morning all!  A couple of weeks ago the fourth grade teachers asked that we send in three cards or letters for our kids for the week of their testing.  I made three different cards for Abie and sent them in.

Here's the first one...

I used my new Dear Lizzy Neapolitan paper on this card and I just love the spring colors!  The little row of shoes made me think of Abie :)

Did you have a good weekend?  Mike and I had a wonderful time in Springfield.  It was so great to see our friends!  Mike took fourth place overall, and was first place in his age division!  I was so proud of him!  After we got back on Saturday, it was so beautiful out, we basically spent the rest of the weekend outside, minus sleeping.  Ha!  I hope you have a wonderful week and I'll see you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by today :)

Hello Friday!

Just want to pop in today and wish you a happy weekend!  Mike and I have taken the day off and are headed to a 5K that our close friends are putting on in support of their daughter.  The actual race takes place tomorrow, but we're going to head down today and meet them for dinner tonight.  Mom and dad are taking care of the girls for us :)  and we'll be back tomorrow afternoon.  I'm hoping to get the rest of my area cleaned up Sunday and maybe get some creativity flowing!

What are your plans this weekend?  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a beautiful weekend!

Quick and easy card.

Man, I don't know about your week, but mine has flown by!  I can hardly believe it's Thursday!  You know how I told you I had three cards I had to make last weekend?  Well, one was really a tag, so just two cards I guess.  Anyway, I was sort of on a time crunch so by the time I got to the third card, I was really feeling the pressure!  You know what?  It ended up being my favorite card!  Isn't that the way it goes?

This was another long card, with money, for my youngest nephew :)  After placing the background October Afternoon paper on, I just dug through the OA miscellany pack until I found three pieces I liked, that fit together well.  I adhered those and, done!

A little update for you, I made it down to my craft room last night and made some headway.  I can actually see the top of my desk now!  Wahoo!  Now my issue is, I like to have everything on my desk, real close and easy to grab while I'm working.  But at the same time I don't like having all that stuff out on my desk, it feels too cluttered to me.  I'm totally contradicting myself, I know :)  Any suggestions?

Let me ask you this too, do you have a Clip It Up?  What do you think, yes or no?  Worth it?

Okay, thanks for your help :) I'll see you tomorrow, thanks for stopping in today!!  Have a fantastic Thursday!

WOYWW

Morning and happy Wednesday!  It's another wet one here, we're enduring an enormous amount of rain right now, but it's supposed to be beautiful again this weekend!  I'm linking up at JULIA'S BLOG today to share my desk, along with tons of other people!  Go check it out, it's so much fun to see what everyone else is up to!

This is the mess on my desk right now and I have to say, it's really driving me crazy.  I'm feeling a purge and big organization coming on, but I'm not quite sure what direction I'm headed with it.  So, I'm afraid to start.  So, my desk sits like this.  Ugh.  :)  Any suggestions on where to start?  I just feel like I have SO MUCH STUFF!  But I use it all and can't get rid of it either.  Okay, sorry to get off topic there...

What are you working on right now?  Like I said, I'm trying to figure out the best way to re-organize my mess (and that's just a portion of it!)  Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll see you tomorrow with another card!!

Long cards.

Good morning!  Let me ask you a question.  How do feel about long cards?  Every year we do the photo cards and every year I have a bunch of envelops leftover.  I save those envelopes :)  They are 8 1/4 x 4 1/4.  Every once in awhile I will have a need for a card that will fit in one of these envelopes.  I call them long cards, because, well, they're long.  8" x 4", that's pretty long compared to most of the cards I make.

My need for long cards this past weekend was to hold cash.  Cash fits really well in a long card :)

Here's the front of my long card.  I used October Afternoon papers and miscellany.  I attached that tag with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher.  I really resisted buying that thing, but you know what, I find myself reaching for it all the time!  Rather than stamping or die cutting Happy Birthday, I just grabbed a pen and wrote it out myself.  This card came together QUICK!  No frills for my 12 year old nephew :)

Here's a close up of the tag, and those cute little staples :)

On the inside, I laid my money down and, with a pencil, placed a hash mark on each side of the bill.  Then I used my Stampin' Up! Slit Punch to punch those slits.  The bill fits right in between the two.  I just had to remember to erase my hash marks :)  I took a picture of the card with the money in it, but I didn't know if it was illegal to post something like that on the Internet?  Is it?  I would hate for the Blogger police to come after me!  Haha!

Well, I hope you enjoy your Tuesday and thank you for stopping by today.  I'll see you tomorrow!

Typewritten Tag!

Good morning everyone!  Did you have a wonderful weekend?  We celebrated five birthdays this weekend!  I only need cards/tags for three of them though (one of the birthdays was mine and one was Abie's)

I had a gift bag for my dad's gift and I used October Afternoon papers for the tag...

Instead of writing the to and from, I used my "new to me" typewriter!  I really only had one shot at getting it centered, but I figured if it looked to off, I would just add some sort of embellishment.  Haha!  I love how the old font goes with this old timey paper!

We spent the majority of our weekend outside.  It was beautiful here!  They're calling for rain most of the week, which I'm grateful for.  A) because we can use it to green up the grass and B) I really, REALLY need to clean up my craft area!  It's a disaster area down there!

I hope you have a GREAT Monday and thank you so much for stopping by today.  I really appreciate you sticking with me through my ho hum Project Life week last week.  I know that it's not every one's cup of tea, but I still wanted to share it with you :)  See you all tomorrow!

Project Life Week #9 and my favorite product!

Happy Friday friends!  This has been quite the week for me at work and I am so happy it's Friday and I just have to tell myself that I CAN GET THROUGH THE NEXT 8 HOURS!!!  Then it will be the weekend!

I'm sharing my last week of Project Life today

So this is becoming a pretty typical layout for me.  A very simple title card, my pictures and my colorful journaling cards.  Once I add my pictures I add labels or some additional journaling.  Which brings me to my next picture...

I know I showed you these before, when I first bought them at Staples.  I didn't know then just how much I would use them!  I love them to add just a bit of journaling to a photo!

So, tonight I'm hoping that I can get a few cards made and then we have the party tomorrow.  Sunday, mmmm, relax PLEASE!  What are your plans?

Hope you have a great day and a fab weekend.  See you soon and thanks for stopping by!!

St. Patrick's Day shirts for the girls.

Hello all!  Good morning and happy weekend eve to you :)  I hope you are having a lovely week.  Things are just dandy here.  You know, Saturday is St. Patrick's Day and in addition to that we're celebrating mine, my Dad's, Abie's and my two nephew's birthdays.  Whew!

For the festivities, I thought I would make the girls a couple of shirts.  I went to Michael's in search of iron ons and found the perfect blingy, rhinestoney shamrocks!  Then headed over to Target in search of t-shirts.  I was picturing black, but found the most awesome fluorescent colors!

Super fun!!!  I was so excited with how these turned out.  They were so fast to make, the longest part was pre-washing the shirts.  Ha!

Hope you enjoy your Thursday.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow!

Project Life Week #7, Week #8 and inserts.

Morning everyone!  How are you today?  I want to share with you Week #7 and #8 Project Life.  Week 8 was Abie's birthday and we had a lot of photos that week.  I made easy work of them and added a couple of inserts!

Simple layout here, but I did use some fun stamps on my journaling cards :)

Week #8 I added some chipboard letters that spelled out ten for Abie's 10th birthday.  I got pretty colorful with my journaling too :)  My favorite thing though is my typing on the graph journaling card!!

Super simple inserts here, 6x12 and I just added the photos.  Love, love, love this project!!!

Halfway through the week people!!!  So excited about the weather and what a good mood it puts everyone in.  Hope you have a beautiful Wednesday.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Project Life Week #5 and #6, with pictures!

Hello and a happy, beautiful Tuesday to you!  We're having a fantastic weather week here and I'm enjoying every single minute of it.  I hope you're getting some springy weather where you are too!

I got my pictures last week and slipped them into my otherwise finished layouts.  What I love about working like this is that it is so quick and easy when I get my photos, like instant gratification.  What I don't like is having to look at four weeks of layouts with post its stuck all over them :)

Week #5 I added a fun label to my photo, but a pretty basic layout.

Week #6 I got a little crafty with my title card and I went back and used my new/old typewriter to add a bit of journaling to one of my photos :)

Have a wonderful Tuesday and I'll see you tomorrow!  Thanks for coming by today :)

A few pages of my Gratitude Journal.

Yay Friday!  Even though I have to work late tonight, I'm so excited it's Friday!!  (I do get to leave early Monday in exchange, so it's good!)

Today I quickly wanted to share with you a couple of the inside pages of my Gratitude Journal from the other day.  They aren't really complete, complete, but semi-complete.  Makes total sense, right?

Here's my cover page.  The book came with the acetate piece that had the bicycle printed on it already.  I added the graph card, stamping and staples.

On this piece I added the stamping (at the top) and the writing, of course :)  Some of my entries will be simple things like this that I'm grateful for and others will be a little more in depth.  Two Saturdays ago we were playing outside and Mike and I were standing in the driveway.  I looked up and saw both of our cars in the garage and I was just SO grateful to see them there.  He has been traveling for work so much lately, to see both of them there, it really hit me.  Do you have moments like that?  The coffee and whipped cream, well, that's a little afternoon, weekend guilty pleasure of mine right now :)

On this page I added the stamping, in the corner.

Here I added some stamping too.

I plan on writing a lot in this so I didn't want to muck up the pages too much.  After I write, I'll go back and add some more stuff.  The I want to come back and show you guys some more!  I don't plan on putting photos in here, but you never know...

Big plans this weekend?  Not here!!  Wahoo!!!!  Abie's school testing is coming up next month and they have asked us to send in three cards or letters of encouragement for the kids.  (didn't I do this on my own last year???)  So I'm going to work on those and also, my Project Life pictures got delivered so I'm going to slip those into the slots.  Oh, and most importantly, my typewriter ribbon came!!!!  Mike is going to load that puppy up and I'm going to try it out!  I might have to pick up the house too :)

Hope you have a beautiful Friday and a fantastic weekend!!  See you soon!

Little birdie thank you.

So happy it's Thursday!!  Tomorrow is the start of the weekend, Mike is home, spring is coming, things are good :)

I needed a few thank you cards and was totally inspired by that $1.50 stamp set I picked up over the weekend (see Monday's post)

I stamped the long branch in chocolate ink and then colored in the leaves with my green Bics.  I stamped the little birdie in black, right on top of the branch and then stamped a second birdie on a scrap piece of white cardstock.

I colored in the second birdie and trimmed him out, minus the legs, and popped him up with a pop dot.  Because of the weird way I placed the branch, right in the middle of the card, I was having a really difficult time with where to place the sentiment.  Then it hit me, why not use a teeny tiny sentiment and place it so that it looked like a leaf?  So that's exactly what I did!

I'm heading to the store tonight after dinner but that's about it for my Thursday night.  How fantastic is that?  I hope you have a beautiful day today :)  See you tomorrow and thanks for stopping by to see me!!

WOYWW

Hello there and happy WOYWW to you!  I'm linking up over at JULIA'S blog today to share what I'm working on.

What are you working on today?  I'm happy it's Wednesday, happy we've made it halfway through the week.  Hope you have a great Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow!!

Zebra Thank Yous.

Happy Tuesday everyone!!  I have a card to share with you today that I made for Abie to send out as thank yous for her birthday gifts.  These were super simple to make and I love how they turned out!

These coordinate with her birthday invitations and I actually like these better than the invites!

Hope you're having a great week so far.  Mike is out of town this week, but for the last time until April!  So excited about that!!  Thanks for coming by today and I'll see you tomorrow!!  Have a fantastic day :)

I'm baaaaaaack!

I missed blogging SO much!  It was a much needed break, but the thing I missed most was my daily interactions with everyone.  I love posting everyday and checking in to see what everyone else is up too.  I did get down to my craft area on Sunday and got caught up on Project Life, made several cards and started on another project.  I still don't feel like my mojo is 100% back though.  I think about crafting 99% of the time but it's getting myself down to my room that's the issue.  Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

So last Friday was my 35th birthday.  It didn't feel like my birthday, at all.  It was the weirdest day, we had rain, snow and sun, I HAD to be at work for a meeting, we didn't get to go out and celebrate because the school carnival was that night.  It was just an odd day.  One thing about Mike, he's always been awesome about making my birthday special.  Awhile ago I mentioned, in passing, that I wanted a vintage typewriter, for scrapbooking.  He remembered and this was what he got me...

I was SO surprised!  It came in the original case and everything!  I've already ordered ribbon, the ribbon in it was dried out and you could just faintly see the type.  I can't wait to use this with my Project Life!

On Saturday we had no plans.  Yes, zero, none, nada!  It was fabulous!  I made a trip to Big Lots and was rewarded with the following:

Halloween glitter Thickers!  Only $2!  My favorite is the 31 on the backside of this.

These Hampton Arts stamps for $1.50.  I have a card to share later this week with these!!

Finally, some Basic Grey chipboard letters, which I've put to use in my PL album already, and these fun fall Woolies!  I never find anything at Big Lots so I was so excited when I found this stuff!

I hope you have a beautiful Monday and thank you so much for sticking with me last week.  Your comments and sweet words meant the world to me!  I'll be back tomorrow!!!  Thanks for popping in today!
