Project Life for 2015

Hey there!  I know, another Project Life post :)  I thought I would share with you my kit for 2015 and my plan for this year, and what I've done for the last few years because it works great for me and may work for someone else.

I'm using this adorable 5th and Frolic Edition.  The girls helped me pick it out and I'm in luuuuuv!

Here's a little sample of the title cards :)  Aren't they cute?

Here's a peek at week number one, which was really just a few days.  Super easy!!

And week number two, which has some personal journaling, hence the super sneaky camera angle.  Ha.

So, for my process.  I load up my book with my page protectors.  I only use one 12x12 page protector for one week.  Two is too much for me :)  So for a whole year, that's about 30 page protectors, give or take.  Then I go back through and add all of the title cards.  I just take the stack, right out of the box and rotate them through the book.  SUPER easy.

Then I go back with a few Sharpies and add the week number and the dates.  And then I go back and add the journaling cards, using my same stack and rotate method (see above, haha)  This year, I worked on the whole process on a Sunday afternoon while Mike and I watched a movie.

Now, my whole book, FOR THE ENTIRE year, is done.  All it needs is pictures and words.  I just have to add three pictures a week.  I take all my pictures with my cell phone and print from my Selphy.  I write in my planner, a few notes, every day about what we did or what is going on.  So when I sit down to work on my Project Life, I print my photos out and work on my journaling.  By the time my photos are done printing, I'm usually about done with my journaling and can slip the photos into the page protectors.  SO EASY!!

The best part about this project is that it's recording our everyday.  I was in such a scrapbook slump, only taking pictures of the major holidays and now I'm getting all this awesome stuff!

So, I hope I helped someone that was maybe thinking PL seemed like too much or like they couldn't or didn't want to take it on.  I know it's not for everyone :)

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you're having a good week!

Project Life Week 52!!

Well, Project Life number 3 is officially in the books!  I finished up over the weekend last week :)

I wasn't sure how to finish out this week, since the 31st was on Wednesday.  Since I only use three pictures for one week and one 12x12 page protector for one week, I had a delima.  I ended up using six pictures and adding more journalling, problem solved!!

Did you do Project Life for 2014 or divided page protectors?  Thanks for stopping in today :)  Hope you have a great weekend!!

Project Life Week 24

Good morning!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to celebrate the men in your life yesterday :) Mom and dad are out of town, but I was able to talk to him on the phone.  As for Mike, we went out for brunch yesterday morning and then took it easy the rest of the day.

Today I wanted to share with you my latest Project Life layout. I haven't been sharing them here because I feel like they all look the same. Haha! I, of course, enjoy looking at them, but not sure about you ;)

I hope you have a wonderful Monday and I appreciate the visit. I'm hoping to get a larger post typed up Wednesday, the project Mike and I were working on last week and finally finished Saturday!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Project Life 2014 Week 1

Hey there! Happy Tuesday :)  Today I wanted to share with you my cover page and first week of Project Life for 2014.  That still sounds so weird to me.

I'm using the Kraft Edition this year and I love it so far.  I'm sure I'll grow sick of it after a few months, but for right now I love it :)

Here's my cover page.  I followed the kit's example exactly and love it.  I used simple handwritten journaling, which I've gotten better at becoming okay with over the years.

Here is week one.  I started my week on Wednesday, the first.  I felt like I needed it to being in January rather than waiting until this Sunday.  I added a little sticky flag and some washi to the title card because one thing about the Kraft Edition is that the title cards are VERY plain.  I took the third picture out for this week, it was of Abie's volleyball team :)

I've already started on week two and even have one of my pictures printed.  I find it helps me keep on track if I work ahead a bit.

So that's it for today.  I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday and thank you for stopping by today!  See you soon!!

Finishing off 2013 and getting ready for the new year.

Good morning everyone!  I thought I would share with you today what I've been up to in my craft room.  It's finally back to working order, meaning my desk is cleared off and I can walk around the room, but it is not photo ready yet!  Haha!  We still have a ways to go, I think we'll be painting, probably in the spring, so it will be awhile.  I'm grateful to be able to work again though!

I spent last night getting my 2014 Project Life album ready and organizing my cards.

I went with the Kraft Edition for 2014 and so far I LOVE it!  You know I wasn't thrilled with the Cherry Edition last year, but I loved Clementine from 2012.  Well Kraft is my favorite so far!  We'll see if I change my mind once I get into it.  I bought this tub several months back and it's been working pretty good for my needs.  I can definitely fit more cards or other tools in here, but I mostly fit just the kit in here then store it on my bookshelf.

I also spent last night organizing some other things in my room.  Like this awesome Pay it Forward gift from my friend KATIE

I love that she sent me that gold ornament because all of the ornaments on our main tree are gold.  How perfect is that?!  Thank you so much Katie!!  In honor of paying it forward, I'll pick a commenter from today's post and pay it forward to them!!  :)

The last thing I wanted to share I was debating on because the picture turned out really crummy.  I need to replace the batteries in my camera so I was snapping photos with my phone and this one ended up blurry.  But I'm going to share it anyway.  Week 51 of Project Life.

Pretty bad, right?  Ha!  I added a couple of inserts to this week, it was the girls last week of school and there was a cute letter to Santa from Landry and an award for Abie.  I was trying to figure out how to work in day 29-31 into the last week since week 52 was the 22nd through the 28.  I ended up just making that spread the 22nd through the 31st.  If I have to add an insert with extra pictures then I will.  I flipped through the album last night with each of the girls and I just loved watching their faces when they remembered certain things we did throughout the year.  Things I wouldn't have scrapbooked typically or taken photos of.  I am, once again, so happy, I've done this project and cannot wait to do it again!  I do it in the simplest of ways, cards, pen and photos, nothing fancy :)  keeping it super simple for myself.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to 2014!  I can't believe it's almost a new year again.  Have a great Monday and I'll be back tomorrow or Wednesday with a new post on my Filofax set up for the new year.  See you then and thanks for stopping by today.

Project Life Week 31 and 32

Can you believe it's already Thursday?  This week has flown by and I couldn't be happier, especially since it's a three day weekend this weekend!!

Today I'm sharing Project Life weeks 31 and 32.

Week 31 was the first week of August.  It seems so long ago now!

Week 32 we had meet the teacher night for Abie and Grammy and I took Abie to get her makeup done, then to Andre's for lunch.

I added a 5x8 insert this week and included the pastry sack from Andre's.  I love that I found these page protectors locally!

We had puppy class Tuesday night and curriculum night for Landry.  Then on Wednesday Mike dropped Dirk off to get neutered.  We were able to pick him up around 4:30 PM last night.  He was doing really well, just drowsy :)  I'm hoping to get the house picked up and of course my normal Thursday grocery shopping done this afternoon, before Abie's curriculum night, tonight.  Then we'll be ready to roll for the holiday weekend!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll see you guys soon, maybe not until Tuesday.  Have a wonderful Thursday and a fabulous weekend!!

Project Life Week 29 and 30

Hello there!  How was your weekend?  Ours was fantastic!  We had a great visit from old friends Friday night, shopping and relaxing on Saturday and some swimming on Sunday.  The weather is going to heat back up this week, up to normal August temps that is, but that's the way it should be, right?  The cool weather was just a bit to premature for me :)  Even though it did get me a little excited to start thinking about fall projects!!

Today I wanted to share with you week 29 and 30 of my Project Life.

Pretty simple here, pictures and words :)  but I did add an insert...

I was going to buy the 5x7 inserts from Becky Higgins, but I found these Avery page protectors at Office Depot.  They are actually 5x8 and even though the holes don't quite line up, I just punch one, right above my thumb there, and they work perfectly!  I am in love!!!

Week 30, back to pictures and words :)  No inserts.  Last year I used the 6x12 insert a lot and this year it's 8 1/2 x 11 and now the 5x8.

How is your Project Life coming along for 2013, if you are doing it this year?  I'm still loving it and so glad I've chosen to document our families life this way :)

Hope you have a wonderful Monday and I appreciate you stopping by!  See you tomorrow!!

Project Life catch up, weeks 23-27

Happy weekend eve!  You know I love my Thursdays :)  Today is no exception!!  I'm sharing a few weeks of Project Life today.

Week #23, the week I was in New Orleans and Mike was at home with the girls :)

Week #24, the week Landry learned how to ride her bike!!

Week #25, lots of summer fun.  Amusement parks, swimming and being silly.

Week #26, beautiful skies and a Harley ride :)

Week #27, the week we were on vacation!!

I finished up week number 28 last night, but don't have it photographed yet.  I've gotten in a pretty good habit of sitting down for a few minutes each week and working on this.  I'll tell you, if it wasn't for my phone and my Selphy, this project would be a whole lot harder!  Haha!

Thanks for popping in today.  I hope you have a great weekend eve and I'll be back tomorrow with a new card!

One more Project Life...

Morning! Happy Tuesday to you! We had a busy night last night, but let me tell you, the girls are getting so big, and responsible, they are able to help out so much around the house to help us get out the door. I love that! Especially when we have to be somewhere fast!

Today I'm sharing one more week of Project Life. My two most recent weeks have all the journaling cards completed, I just need to print out pictures. Hoping to do that tonight!

I find myself crafting in batches :)  Do you do that, or do you have the luxury of crafting in large blocks of time, like entire days, or even three or four hours at a time?

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday and I'll see you tomorrow! Thanks for stopping in today!

Project Life

Hey there! Sorry to go missing on you a few days last week. I actually had things planned to post, but between my busier than expected summer schedule and broken laptop, it just didn't happen.  I'm hoping to post every day, or almost every day, this week  :)

Today I'm sharing a couple of recent weeks of Project Life.  I'm still enjoying it, I love the record keeping aspect of it.

Thanks for stopping in today and I'll see back here tomorrow!

Project Life, Instagram photos and Selphy.

Happy Friday to you!  I seriously felt like I just typed that, last Friday.  Goodness this week went by super fast!  We have a busy weekend ahead, cleaning house, laundry, birthday party, Cinco de Mayo celebration, Origami Owl party (have you seen this stuff?  SUPER cute!), crafting, etc.

Today I want to share my last few weeks of Project Life and a little experiment I had with Instagram photos and my Selphy.

This was week 14.  The bottom two pictures I took with Instagram and I wasn't sure if I would be able to print them on my Selphy or not.  Well guess what??  I was!  Can't even tell you how excited I was!  All I did was select the border feature just before I hit print and my photos came out all beautiful like :)

Week 15, a few more Instagram pics :)

Week 15, a 6x12 insert.

Week 16, boring.  Haha!

So what is the morale of this Instagram/Selphy story?  I need to buy some of the Becky Higgins page protectors that fit the Instagram photos.  Yay!!

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you have an absolutely wonderful weekend!  See you soon!

Project Live Week 13

Good Tuesday morning!  I have a super quick post today.  I was able to get caught up on Project Life last week and I'm hoping to share some more of that later in the week, but for today I'm sharing week #13.

This was a very simple week where I took all three pictures at one event!  Made it super easy when it was time for printing :)

We had a great time at the game last night, but it was a late night, for all of us :)  I'm hoping to be in bed much earlier tonight!  Ha!  Thanks for stopping in for the quick post today and I'll see you tomorrow!

Project Life Week 12

Happy Friday friends!  I hope this post finds you well :)  Today I'm sharing week 12 of Project Life.

I love this week because of the pictures :)  oh, and the words too I guess.  Ha!

I haven't worked on PL for the last two weeks, so I need to catch up on that this weekend.  I also have a HUGE project I'm needing to work on for a friend with a quickly approaching deadline.  We're expecting beautiful weather Saturday and I'm sure we'll want to be out in it.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and an absolutely beautiful weekend!  Thanks for stopping in today and I'll see you next week!

Project Life weeks 10 & 11

Happy Friday everyone!!  We made it to the end of another week and another month.  Can you believe it's already the end of March?  Man, this year is flying by.  I'm ready for the warmer weather, but dang it's going by fast!

Today I'm sharing Project Life weeks 10 and 11.

I'm still experimenting with my cards.  Still wishing I would have bought a different kit for this year, but I'm making it work ;)

More of the same for week #11.  Honestly, I'm kind of bored with my layouts, when I look at them on the blog, but when I see them in the layout, I LOVE them.  So that's good, right?  Haha!

Do you have any plans for the weekend?  Our big birthday, spring, Easter party is tomorrow!!  Then we're celebrating Easter with just the four of us.  I hope you have a lovely weekend and I'll see you  back here on Monday.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Project Life week 9

Hey there!  Happy Monday and day after daylight savings.  Oy!  Does anyone else feel like they need to go back to bed?  I'm usually good after a few days, but those first couple of days are rough for me :)

Today I'm sharing week 9 of my Project Life.

Nothing super spectacular here.  I try to work on this every Sunday afternoon, while Abie is at practice and Landry and I are hanging out at home.  That didn't happen this weekend though.  I sat this Sunday while they were gone.  Haha!  I'm serious.  I sat.  I didn't feel the crafty bug at all, so I didn't push it and didn't really even step foot into my craft room.

A quick post for me today.  I'm hoping to make it back tomorrow to share a card with you guys.  Until then, have a beautiful Monday and thanks for stopping by to check in!

Project Life week 8.

It's Friday and it's March!!!!  Yay!!!  I'm sharing week 8 of my Project Life today.  I finally figured out my collage pictures too!

The Selphy has a border feature and when I clicked border, it printed the out the pictures like you see above!  I also figured out that if I turned my grid cards over, I could journal on the backs of them.  Duh, I know.  But they are solid colors and it just didn't occur to me to journal on those too.  Until now.  This was a regular breakthrough week for me.  Hahahaha!

What do you have going on this weekend?  Tomorrow is my birthday so we're going out to dinner to celebrate.  Other than that, we have no plans :)  I'm hoping that the sun comes out to help melt some of this snow!!  Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you have a great Friday and a fabulous weekend!  See you soon!!

Project Life Week 7

Well I'm not sure what our total number of inches was, but it's definitely in the double digits.  Ew.  Ready for spring people!!  :)

Today I'm sharing week #7 of Project Life!

So the one thing I want to talk about this week is the picture down in the bottom left corner.  I took both pictures with my phone, a Droid Razr.  Then I have this app on my phone called Photo Grid that I make a collage with.  You can add, I think, up to four photos.  Then I have the Canon Easy Photo Print app on my phone, this automatically pulls up all the photos from my phones library, including the ones from the Photo Grid app.  I click on which ones I want to print and out they pop on my Selphy photo printer!  I also printed one that had four pics on it, but it cut the heads off of a couple of people, so I'm working on that :)  But, I love this app!  It's a great way to get more pics in my PL weekly layouts!!

Yesterday was kind of a blur.  After Mike got home, he and the neighbors went out with the snow blower and cleared a bunch of driveways up and down the street :)  all while the kids played together.  It was so awesome!  I just love our street and our neighbors.  The girls and Mike came in about 4:00 and got warm and we fixed dinner and were in for the night.  Mike is back at work today and the girls and I are home again.  Tomorrow night is Abie's birthday party, a sleepover :)  four eleven year old girls and even Landry is having a friend over!  Mike and I might need our ear plugs!

I hope you have a great weekend and a wonderful Friday.  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you soon!!

Project Life Weeks 4, 5 & 6.

Good morning everyone.  I'm sharing the last three weeks of my Project Life today.  Very basic layouts here, pictures and words.  I do love the look of adding scrappy stuff to the layouts, but I still struggle with that, so more often than not, this is what my weekly layouts look like.

Confession:  all of these pics were taken with my phone.  I've gotten SUPER lazy and have just been snapping photos with my camera phone and then printing them out on my Selphy.  Love :)  I have found an app that will make a collage out of my photos allowing me to print more than one picture on one 4x6 sheet.  I'm still messing around with it, as soon as I have it figured out, I'll share.  Right now I'm still cutting people's heads off, need to quit that before I start telling you all about it ;)

Today is a holiday for us, President's Day, and we're all four home!  We had a great weekend, shopping and running errands on Saturday, went to the movies on Sunday, I'm not sure what we're up to today, but I'm so excited to be home with my three favorite people for an extra day!!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow :)

Project Life Week #3

Hey there everyone!  I'm back today with week number three of my Project Life.  This week was all about laundry and taking care of the sicky one :)

I like to break up my journaling with the different colors of Sharpies to help show division of the days.  It may not look visually appealing, but it helps me break up the days when I'm writing :)

Quick post today, but I'll be back tomorrow with my finished flags!!  I was able to get them done last night and even made a card with one!  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a beautiful Thursday :)

Project Life Week #2

This whole week has just seemed so weird to me.  Today should be Friday, right?  Yesterday felt like Thursday, but today is Thursday.  I'm so confused :)

I'm sharing week number two of Project Life today.

I did an insert for this week too, not pictured, because I had extra photos from the girls school parties.  I'm finding this year so much easier to deal with than last year because I know what I want out of my album.  It's almost a relief!  I know I'll get behind at some point, but I also know how easy it is to get caught right back up again!

That's it for me today.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back tomorrow with a card :)  Have a gorgeous Thursday.  (it is Thursday, right?)
