Yes, another tag.

Are you tagged out yet?  Ha!  I've had a need for a lot of tags lately.  They're so diverse and quick and easy!!

Here's my latest...

This was for our neighbors who just had a sweet baby boy!!  I love the ribbon/bow the most :) That color of aqua is just so pretty.

Do you  have big holiday plans this weekend?  Crafty plans?  No plans?  We have a volleyball fundraising tournament on Saturday and on Sunday we're headed to the casino for our annual trip to celebrate Grandma Mary's birthday!!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you next week.

Project Life Week #43 and #44 and an update!

Good morning everyone!  I thought I'd share a Project Life update with you, it's been awhile.

I did a bit of stamping on this weeks journaling cards :)  But other than that, it was a simple week of words and pictures.

Here is week #44.  This one 12x12 layout is one whole week for me.  I only take three pictures for the whole week.  If I have a week like this, which had a lot more pictures because of Halloween, I add an insert.  Usually a 6x12, my favorite.

I'm so glad I've done this project all year.  It's taken over traditional scrapbooking for me, but if I get the urge to do a layout, I do one, in the form of an insert!  See how awesome that is?  It's so flexible and perfect for me :)  I will go several weeks without working on my album, but I continue to take photos and keep notes in my calendar.  Then I'll sit down and play catch up.  I debated a month or so ago about doing Project Life again for 2013, and quickly decided that yes, I would do it again :)  I ordered my Core Kit, which I'll share soon, have a new calendar and I'm ready to go!!

If you've debated about Project Life, just know that it's so flexible and you can make it what you want it to be.  Don't be intimidated, it's supposed to be fun, if it's stressful then you're doing it wrong.  hahahaha!

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow.  Have a fab Thursday :)

WOYWW

Can you believe it's already Wednesday?  This week seems to be going by pretty fast for me.  Already time to link up with Julia over at THE STAMPING GROUND for a trip to see what everyone is working on!!

I'm getting ready to start a Christmas paper bag album.  Katie made the CUTEST paper bag mini for Thanksgiving to capture all the things she was thankful for.  It had been a long time since I had made one of these and this one was put together in the neatest way, I just loved it!!  If you go HERE Katie has a super, easy to follow, tutorial on her paper bag mini.  If you go HERE Katie has the last few pages of her mini posted as well as links to the other pages of her mini, which is where I got my inspiration.  I'm hoping to get started on this today/tonight!!

Hope you have a fantastic Wednesday!  It's laundry night here, have to do a load in the middle of the week or it's out of control by the weekend ;)  Thanks for popping in and I'll see you tomorrow!!

Hostess taggy.

Hi there!!  So you know that candle I posted yesterday?  I had to package it up, right?  I slipped it into a simple Kraft bag and added some tissue paper.  Then I whipped up a tag to tie onto the front of the bag.

I love the way this turned out because the MME patterned paper I used was SUPER patternedy, you know what I mean by that, right?  Because of that, I only added a couple of embellishments and the tag was done!

We're having an easy week this week, which I'm grateful for.  It's the calm before the storm people.  Haha!  It all starts this Saturday, so I'm going to enjoy our nice, normal week this week :)  I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday and thank you for stopping by today!!

Hostess Gift

Hello!!!  Did you miss me?  ;)  hahahahaha!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, if you're here in the US, if not, I hope you had a fab weekend.  The girls and I got the tree up, my sister and I did some shopping, Mike strung up the outdoor lights, we did some more shopping and we had some much needed time together, with our family.  It was wonderful.  I'm sad it's' over, but we are definitely looking forward to Christmas!

I always like to take a little something over to my sister's house on Thanksgiving to say thank you, for her hospitality.  This year I picked up a candle at Target that smelled yummy but had a not so yummy label on the front.  What's a crafter to do?  Alter it, of course!!

I trimmed a small piece of music cardstock for the front, to cover the label and then added a couple of my precious Michael's leaves.  I'm kind of glad fall is over because I sure didn't want to run out of those leaves!!  Ha!  Then I added that awesome felt Basic Grey flower :)

To finish off the top, I used some scor tape and adhered some fun fall colored polka dot ribbon, just so the lid wouldn't look quite so plain.  What I love about this project is that if you change the embellishments, and colors, you can have a perfect hostess give for any holiday!!

Are you ready for the Christmas holidays?  Our decorations are all up now, but we still have quite a bit of shopping to do.  The problem is, it's for people that are hard to buy for and we're not sure what to get them yet :)

Thanks for stopping in today and have a beautiful Monday!!  I'll see you tomorrow friends :)

WOYWW

Good morning friends!  Happy WOYWW to you, if you're sharing at THE STAMPING GROUND too.  If not, then happy Wednesday :)

Today I'm sharing a picture of my my desk...

We have a bag of ribbon, some scor tape, the finished turkey place cards for tomorrow, my trusty coffee mug.  What does all this mean?  I'm working on a hostess gift of course!  Hahahaha!

I'm going to take the next couple of days off from blogging to spend it with family.  Mike will be home from work and tomorrow will be spent at my sisters.  I hope you all enjoy a a wonderful Thanksgiving, if you're celebrating :)  If not, I hope you have a fab Thursday and Friday!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next Monday!

Anniversary tag.

Morning everyone and happy Tuesday!  Tomorrow is mine and Mike's anniversary, but we celebrated over the weekend.  For his gift I made this little tag...

I saw this priority sticker, which was meant for an officey type project, but I used it for a different meaning :)  I colored the Amy Tangerine stamps with some markers before I stamped them which gave them a different look.

Thanks for stopping in today!!  I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday.  I'll be back tomorrow to share my workdesk.

Birthday Card Oops.

Good morning!!!!  Did you have a nice weekend?  Ours was fantastic!  I'm sad that it had to end though.  On Friday night we took the girls out for pizza and on Saturday Mike and my dad finished shingling the shed.  In the afternoon, Mike and I headed out to celebrate our anniversary a little early.  On Sunday we picked the girls up and I finished up some laundry.  In the afternoon, Mike took Abie to her first club volleyball practice while Landry and I stayed home to fix a yummy dinner!

We have a short week this week, two days, for the the girls in the family at least.  Mike will work Wednesday and then be home with us for the rest of the week.  We're supposed to have great weather this week too!

On Saturday, Abie had a sleepover/birthday party to go to with one of her closest friends.  I was kicking out the card and all I had left to do was stamp the sentiment on the inside when this happened.

The front of the card was so lumpy that it messed with my stamping block, causing the ink to NOT stamp evenly.  Grrr!  Does this ever happen to you?  Quick thinking to the rescue.

I cut a piece of (slightly) patterned paper for the inside and stamped on it FIRST, then adhered it to the inside.  Really, this happens to me more often than not.  You would think I would learn to stamp the sentiment FIRST and then work on the outside of the card, right?

Here's how the front of the card turned out :)

I even stamped the envelope, a la Tracy  :)

Thanks for stopping by today, I sure appreciate it and all the super nice comments you guys leave me.  I'll be back tomorrow with another post, Monday night games are over, just Sunday and Tuesday practices now.  Ha!  Have a fab Monday!!

Grandma's Birthday

Good morning and happy Friday to you!  I'm so excited it's Friday :)  We're going out for pizza tonight, Mike and I are celebrating our anniversary this weekend and next week is a super short work week.  It doesn't get much better than that, does it?

Today is my Grandma Mary's birthday.  She is my Grandma that lives close by, my dad's mom.  I made her a card and then wrote her a little letter before I slipped it in the mail.  Grandma Mary likes to get a card with something written in it, not just a signature.  Haha!

I had no idea what I was going to make for her and then I turned around and saw this felt bird on my peg board and the card just came together.  I stamped the sentiment on the inside and then wrote my letter, of course.

Thanks for coming by today.  I hope you have a great weekend and I'll see you soon!!

Acorns!

Finally weekend eve!  Yay!!  I'm working late tonight, but I have lots of work to do so I figure that's a good thing, right?  I'm motivated to get a lot done in preparation for next weeks loooong holiday :)

Today I'm sharing some super fun acorns that I found on Pinterest.  When Mike was out of town a couple of weeks ago, I was looking for some fun crafts that the girls and I could do together.  I found these, but when I clicked on the link it wouldn't take me anywhere.  They looked pretty self explanatory from the picture though.  These are what the girls and I came up with...

How adorable are these?

We took a Hershey's kiss and spread a little bit of peanut butter on the flat part.  Then placed a mini Nutter Butter on top.  Then took a chocolate chip and spread peanut butter on the flat part of it and placed it on top of the mini Nutter Butter.  Voila, edible acorn (for people)!  They taste delicious too, especially if you like chocolate and peanut butter together!!

These would be super cute for Thanksgiving next week.  They came together really fast, and my girls, 10 and 5, were able to do them with minimal supervision.

Hope you have a fantastic Thursday!  Thanks for stopping in and I'll see you tomorrow!!

WOYWW

Morning everyone!  Today I'm linking up over at THE STAMPING GROUND to share what I have on my workdesk.

I have a wrapped present and I've pulled a few items to begin a tag for the gift!  What are you working on today?

Abie did so awesome on her solo Monday!  We were so excited for her :)  Mom and Dad were there which was extra special too.  That night, Abie's volleyball team finished up their session and won first place medals!  It was a great day for all of us!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be back tomorrow with another post.  Until then, have a beautiful day :)

Sorry...

I know I said I would be back today, but I forgot we had volleyball last night and wouldn't be posting today.  So here's a quick post to say, I'm not posting.  Ha!  I'll be back tomorrow, either with WOYWW or some acorns...  We'll see :)  Have a fab Tuesday my friends!

Veteran's Day Card

Good morning.  I hope you had a great weekend.  Today I want to share with you the Veteran's Day card I made for my dad.

I went back and forth with that panel, trying to decide if I should add more to it before I just decided to leave it plain and simply added the sentiment.  I'm happy with the results.

I'm headed down to the girl's school this morning, for the third time (first time was to drop her off for choir practice, second time was to drop Landry off for school) for the Veteran's Day Program.  Mom and Dad will be coming, which I'm thrilled about!!!  Abie has a solo performance, which I'm nervous about :)  I know she'll do fine, but I'm still nervous.  Tonight is Abie's last rec volleyball game before she starts club volleyball next week.  I'm really looking forward to a peaceful, un-busy (is that a word) week!!!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you all here tomorrow!!

Thankful.

It's Friday, lovelies and a three day weekend for me!!  I really in need of all three days too. Haha!  Last weekend, when the girls and I were crafting away, we made a thankful board.  I think I saw this idea last year from Becky Higgins.  I just fell in LOVE with it and knew I wanted to do the same thing for our family.

I bought a 16x20 poster frame at Walmart for $8, a piece of white poster board and I already had the black Thickers and Sharpies.  I took the plastic out of the frame (it was a cheapie so no glass here) that way we could write on it.  The girls and I got started on it right away.  But as the week has progressed, our board has already gotten quite full!  It's been so fun to see what the girls will write :)  Yesterday, after school, I came in from the garage and found the girls on the floor writing away on the board.  Nothing could have made me happier!  I can't wait to display this all year long, I have the perfect place for it in out upstairs hallway!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Mike is working on the shed all day Saturday and Sunday we're hoping to spend some time together.  We've been so busy with school activities that we just need some downtime.  On Monday I'm going to run up to Abie's Veteran's Day Program, she's in choir this year and has a solo!!  In the midst of all of that, I'm hoping to clean my craft room and maybe get a few cards done that are on my list.  I hope you have a great weekend and I'll see you soon!!

Turkey place cards

Yeah, it's finally Thursday!  I've felt like it should have been Thursday all week.  Today I'm going to share with you the project the girls were working on yesterday.

If you guessed Turkeys, you were right!  But they're a little bit more than that...

Turkey place cards!  I saw this idea on Pinterest, how cute, right?  I should have had them cut out the hands on card stock so the fingers didn't bend over so much, but still, we love them!!

Only a couple of weeks until Thanksgiving.  Are you working on any special Thanksgiving projects or are you already moving on to Christmas?  I just can't bring myself to work on Christmas things yet :)  I feel so bad for Thanksgiving, I need to give it a little love first.  Haha!

Have an awesome Thursday and I'll see you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by today to see me.

WOYWW

Morning and happy Wednesday to you all :)  Today I'm linking up at JULIA'S BLOG  to share what is on my workdesk today.

This is actually a picture of the girls workdesk and what they're currently working on :)

It's a VERY important project!  Any guesses??

I hope you enjoy your day.  Thanks for visiting me today and I'll see you back here tomorrow!!

Long weekend

Morning everyone!  Did you have a good weekend?  The girls and I had a lot of fun together, but we sure did miss Mike.  We packed a lot of activities into our two days to keep our minds busy and off of the fact that he was gone :)  The worst part, for me, was at night.  I'm kind of a scaredy cat and jump at every little noise in the house.  Ha!

Today I want to share with you some goodies I picked up a couple of weeks ago on my second Archivers trip.

Some October Afternoon goodies.  This was the day of their BIG sale so the OA stuff was 30% off.  My Archivers didn't have any paper pads :(  But, since I use these stickers on cards and tags AND since the color will work with different projects, it all worked out.

I picked up another bottle of Mr. Huey's.  I only have the Shine and the white so we'll see how I like the brown.  (NOT on sale.  Ha!)

At the end of my trip around the store, I found these Heidi Swapp borders that I thought were cute.  Best part... $1.99.  I can cut them apart to use on smaller projects since I don't scrap 12x12.

Have a wonderful Monday.  We have two more weeks of volleyball.  I won't be posting tomorrow, because of how crazy things get here, but I'll be back on Wednesday!!  Thanks for stopping in today.

Sunshine Blogger Award

Surprise Post!  I made a trip over to TRACY'S blog today and she had won an award.  I loved the way she handled it.  She asked her followers to ask her questions about herself because she felt like everyone knew everything about her already.  Then, she gave the award out to the people who had asked her a question.  I was one of those people :)

Here are the rules:

1.  Include award logo in blog post.

2. Thank the blogger who gave it to you and include a link back to them.

3. Answer 10 questions about yourself, that you have made up yourself. (I didn't read this one, oops. I got some help from my friends)

4. Nominate 10-12 bloggers and contact them at their blog site to inform them.

Since Tracy didn't follow #3 exactly, I'm not going to either ;)  I'm going to answer her questions too, I hope that's okay...

1.  What did you want to be when you grew up?  I wanted to be a teacher or a lawyer.  I'm neither.

2.  What is your favorite nail polish color?  It varies with the season.  Last week I was wearing metallic blue/gray.

3.  I know you are short like me, what is your favorite place to purchase clothes?  Well, I'm 5'6" which I think is average height, but I have really short legs.  I shop everywhere though ;)

4.  What does blogging do for you?  No one around me loves to craft or scrapbook or make cards the way I do.  It's a way for me to connect with other people who LOVE this hobby as much as me :)

5.  Have you always been crafty?  No, I don't think so.  My mom and sister are SUPER crafty and I always felt like it skipped me.  Turns out I just hadn't found my niche yet.  Paper crafts were my thing.

6.  What is your favorite December holiday tradition?  The day after Christmas, my Mom and Sister and I go shopping and have lunch together.  We've done this since I was like 12 or so.  One of my favorite things.

7.  How did you "meet" the person who gave you the award?  When I started my blog, almost three years ago I think???  maybe two, Tracy was one of my first followers and then I immediately followed her back.  We've been emailing and commenting on each others blogs ever since.  I haven't met her in person YET, but I have a strong feeling, one of these days, I'll be headed north and she'll be headed south and we'll get a chance to meet each other face to face :)

8.  How did Wayne Mike propose?  Well, it went a little like this.  It was my junior year of college and we were in the Taco Bell parking lot, yes I said Taco Bell parking lot.  It was November, the car was running, he was talking a lot about how he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, I can't remember much else because I was thinking, is he really going to propose to me in the Taco Bell parking lot?  He pulled the ring out of his pocket, I said yes and then we went inside and he bought me a Mexi Melt.  Hahahahahahah!  True story.

9.  Have you always lived in that little white stared town?  No, but I have always lived in the Kansas City area of Missouri, except for the time I was away at college :)

10.  Do you believe you were put on this earth for a reason?  Like do I have a "special purpose"  (has anyone seen the movie The Jerk, hahahahah!)  Yes and no.  I think I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be with who I'm supposed to be with doing exactly what I'm doing and I love it all :)

11.  What is your middle name?  Lee

Now, I'm going to disobey AGAIN and give this award out to all who are reading it.  Take it and use it for yourself, or just answer the questions, because that was kind of fun.  It's just not fun coming up with questions, right?  Haha!  Hope you have a fab Sunday friends!

Finished journal.

Happy Friday!!  I'm excited to share with you today my "fix" for my mess up on my gratitude journal.  I posted about this on Monday.  Well Mary Pat suggested I make a pocket to store the loose pages in and I loved that idea.  Then one day this week I was driving home from work, and you guys know I always come up with great ideas when I'm on my way home :)  It dawned on me that I could cover the pages with patterned paper and on the back side, re-stamp the gratitude information on the lower portion of the card.  Then I could punch a hole through the tops of the cards, like I'd planned and string my ribbon through.  Sometimes it's the simplest of solutions, isn't it?

Here's the front of the journal.

A shot of the newly stamped page, with the title and journaling lines placed lower.

This is the back of the page from the previous shot.  Just patterned paper adhered to the kraft cardstock.

Finally, here's a look at the journal from the side.

Just a fun little momento of what I'm most grateful for right now.  This little project was a lot of fun to work on :)  I loved the fun size, 2 3/4x3 3/4.

We're having an all girls weekend.  Mike is heading to Chicago this morning for work so the girls and I have all kinds of fun things planned to keep us occupied.  What's on your to do list?

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll see you soon.  Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Wrapped gift, with a wobbly topper.

Can you believe it's November 1st?  Dang this year has flown by.  Abie is heading to a sleepover tomorrow night and the girl wanted "nail stuff".  Abie picked out two boxes of fake nails and a bottle of nail polish for her.  My first thought was to throw everything in a bag.  But the more I thought on it, I thought it would be cute to wrap up the nail polish like a piece of wrapped candy.  Cute, right?  Yes, until I went to put it on top of the package :)

I wanted to use washi as a wrap around the package and so there wasn't really anything to attach the polish to.  I stuck it on with some tape and this made it wobbly.  I still thing it's cute though  :)  And, for future reference, I LOVE kraft wrapping with washi around the middle.  So quick and easy!!!

Have a fantastic Thursday and I'll see you tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by today.
