The other tag with my other new stamp.

So here we are.  Friday at last.  Didn't that seem awfully fast to you?  Today I'm sharing the other tag I made with my other new stamp.

I used some markers and colored a rainbow all down my stamp.  Then I huffed and puffed on the ink to make sure it was good and inky.  Once I applied it to the white tag I LOVED it!  It was perfect, all those rainbow zig zags.  I really hated to add anything on top of it, but I felt bad because of the tag I made yesterday.  I didn't really add anything to it.  So this one got lots of stuff stacked on it.

Patterned paper, twine, punched shapes and a little flag!  It doesn't quite showcase the new stamp as much as I would like for you, but if you come back Monday I have a birthday card to share that is all zig zaggy :)

Yesterday afternoon I got the dreaded call from Landry's pre-school.  Fever :(  She took a good long nap in the PM and was doing better when she woke up.  Mike is keeping her home today.  Would definitely rather her be under the weather this week than next week on her b-day!  Speaking of, that's what our weekend plans consist of.  Party prep. Shopping and cleaning.  Maybe even a little spray painting :)  What's on your agenda?

Have a fun weekend and a beautiful Friday.  I'll see you soon.  Thanks for stopping by today!

A tag with my new stamp.

Thursday.  Yah!!!!  This week is flying by!!!!  I'm only working two days next week so I couldn't be happier about this week going so fast.

We have a dual birthday party Saturday night for sisters.  I had an idea for tags for each of their gifts, using my new stamps.

I covered the manila tag with old book print and then stamped the sunburst image with pink chalk ink.  I love how this bright color really shows up against the black and white.  Then I just sat and stared at the tag for a really long time.  Haha!  I've seen all these tiny banners, for ages, and it all of a sudden hit me, that I had the supplies to easily make one!  I used my PTI double ended banner die and ran it through my Cuttlebug once.  Then I trimmed the two pieces into four equal piece and adhered them onto the lime green twine!  Voila, a tiny banner!  After that, I stared at the tag some more and decided to strategically place a puffy flower and called it good.

I'll be back tomorrow with the other tag I'm working on.  Lots of staring going on there too :)  Have a wonderful Thursday!  Thanks for popping in today.

They're finished!!

Good morning!  I finished up the birthday invitations.  Woot woot!!  I'm thrilled with how they turned out too :)

These are for my youngest daughter's 5th birthday party.  She was born on the 4th of July.  I had to change the direction I was headed with the invitations, rather quickly, when I realized I was running out of time.  These came together pretty quick.  I was able to buy all the supplies at Michael's for under $10.  That included the premade card bases and envelopes.

I used a Papertrey Ink die to get that main shape and then ran it through the Cuttlebug.  The dots are to mimick stars.  On the back of the piece, I put a strip of scor tape and added sprigs of wire that I cut from one of those decorative picks.  I wanted it to look like the card was exploding!  I had a few different ideas from here but ended up going with a couple stamped circles, layered.  The whole piece is adhered to the card with pop dots.

The invitations have been addressed and are in the mail.  Whew, talk about cutting it close this year.  I'm already on the search of party favors.  Mike actually made a great suggestion that I'm going to check on this week.  It's something that I can get a little crafty with too!  Hope you have a fantastic Tuesday and I'll see you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Birthday Invitations in Progress.

Good morning everyone.  Today I want to share with you just a peek at Landry's birthday invitations, in progress.

If you've been around for awhile, you know that Landry was born on the 4th of July.  I have always done a patriotic themed invitation for her, with the exception of last year.  This year I had grand visions of of a red, white and blue glittered #5 and then I realized how much time that would take and THEN I realized that the invitations needed to go out ASAP!  Ack!  Back to the drawing board.  I worked on these invites for a couple of hours Saturday and about an hour on Sunday.  Wish me luck finishing them up and getting them mailed out!!

I have a couple of more projects I need to work on this week too, for a birthday this weekend.  Hopefully I can fit everything in :)  Hope you have a great Monday!!  Thanks for stopping by.

Um, card.

For lack of a better title :)  I made this card with some of my new supplies and I didn't make it for anyone or anything specific.

I used a multitude of aqua embellishments on this and love the way it looks with the pink.  They look like little glass beads, right?  They're plastic though.  I love these!!

I'm so glad it's Friday!  Mike is going to be gone tomorrow so I think the girls and I will be at the pool all day tomorrow, maybe Sunday too :)  What are your plans this weekend?

Thanks for popping in today!  Have a great Friday and a beautiful weekend.

3x3s

Hi there!  I'm excited because I was able to put my new goodies to use.  The first thing I did was start a new stash of 3x3 cards for next school year.  Landry will be starting Kindergarten and with two in school that means two lunches and the need for lots of 3x3 cards for those lunches!

This one I punched a circle on the front of the card so the felt piece would show through.  I added some faux stitching with a white gel pen and on the inside of the card I adhered my felt piece and stamped my sentiment.

This one couldn't get any easier!  A added some coordinating washi tape and then adhered my felt piece!  To finish it off, I stamped my sentiment on the inside.

If I can keep these up, I'll have a nice little stack by the time school starts and then I won't be rushing downstairs the night before to make a card to throw in a lunch!  Ha!

Do you have big plans for your Thursday?  Mike is out of town, so it's girls night again.  Maybe we'll hit the pool.  Whatever we do, I know I'll be glad to see his face tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend eve!!

WOYWW 159

Happy WOYWW!  I'm linking up at JULIA'S BLOG today to share what is on my workdesk.  It's a little busy today :)

I'm finally getting to play with some of my new goodies I posted about yesterday!  The only thing I haven't busted open yet is the Cuttlebug folder.  Maybe tomorrow.  Ha!  What are you working on?

Last night Abie had two more late volleyball games.  These late games are a little rough.  Landry and I stayed home last night and Mike took Abie.  I'm glad to be breezing through this week.  How about you?

Thanks for stopping in today!  See you tomorrow and have a fantastic Wednesday!!

So I bought a few new things...

I made a trip to Michael's last week.  I was going in search of some new Jolee's things I had seen there previously.  I ended up with two handfuls of stuff!

I bought these fun felt pieces for $1.49 each!  I love these to make quick 3x3 cards or tags for birthday presents.

The big middle piece was the Jolee's thing I went for.  They had tons of stuff and it was hard for me to choose.

All of that other stuff was on sale/clearance and I had a 50% off coupon that was burning a hole in my pocket.  So I picked up this Cuttlebug folder that I've had my eye on for a long time.  I always put it off thinking, "oh, I'll get that next time."

I bought this fun Smash Book washi tape!  You can write on it, it looks like.  Not sure what kind of pen I'll use, how fun!!

This notebook I picked up the same day, just at Staples.  I went in looking for a 5x7 notebook that was graph paper.  I found this instead.  One side is graph paper and the other side...

Is this.  Now I bought this to plan out my weekly Project Life pages.  How perfect, right?  Plus is was only $2!  I bought two of them :)

We survived last night.  Volleyball pics and two games, the last one was supposed to start at 9:15 but ended up starting early, at 8:30!  Tonight we have two more, 7:45 and 9:15.  I'm afraid all my new goodies are going to have to wait, at least one more day.  Ha!

Have a great Tuesday and I'll see you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by today :)

Cousin's Birthday Card.

Good morning and happy Monday to you!  Did you have a nice weekend?  Ours was so busy, but it didn't fly by, which was really nice.  I'm already ready for next weekend though ;)

Last Tuesday was my cousin's birthday and I made this card for her.

I used Papertrey Hawaiian Shores cardstock and embossed my sentiment.  I love how the white stands out!  Then I punched out three tiny hearts out of the same color of cardstock and adhered them to the card with foam tape.  I finished of the card by rounding the corners.

Well, we have an interesting week ahead of us.  Lots of volleyball games, Mike will be out of town part of the week and I have to work late one night.  Should make the week FLY by and get me right back to the weekend quickly!  :)

Thank you for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow!  Have a fantastic Monday!!

A little more about the balsa wood.

Friday!!!  Woot woot!!  I'm so happy it's Friday and can't wait for the workday to get over :)  It's been a busy, yet productive, work week and I'm really looking forward to the weekend.

Yesterday I posted about a card I made using balsa wood.  Today I wanted to show you, a little more in depth, how I did that.

This is the balsa wood I bought.  I picked it up at Michael's for a couple of dollars in the wood aisle.  They had several different types and I just sort of picked one at random.

I just used my Tim Holtz scissors to trim the wood and it worked perfectly!!

I used Momento ink a red rubber stamp.

Here's the finished, stamped piece of wood!

I have visions of misted wood, distressed wood, strips of wood.  All kinds of ideas.

So, do you have big plans for Father's Day weekend?  Mike's work picnic is on Saturday and we're going to take it easy on Sunday.  I'm hoping to get some crafty time at some point.

Hope you have a beautiful Friday and a wonderful weekend!  See you soon :)

Father's Day Card #2

Sheesh, can you believe it's Thursday?  I'm shocked at how fast this week is going by!  Today I'm sharing my second Father's Day card.  I had a lot of fun making this one!!

Awhile back Dawn McVey used balsa wood on a card.  She ran it through a die cut machine with her Papertrey Ink dies.  I couldn't find her blog post on this, but I tried to do the same thing.  Um, it didn't work so well for me.  Ha!  What did work well for me was cutting the balsa wood with my Tim Holtz scissors.  I measured with a ruler and snipped right across my drawn line.

Then I stamped right on the balsa wood!  I love the rustic look of this card!!  Plus the options and possibilities are endless!  I'm super excited about this :)

I'm looking forward to the weekend.  I know we were just on vacation last week, but I need a break :)  Hope you have a fab Thursday.  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow.

WOYWW

Hello Wednesday!  It seems like ages since I linked up with JULIA over at the STAMPING GROUND, but it was only one week I missed.  Funny how that is, isn't it?

This is my desk in it's current state.  I'm working on my second, and last, Father's Day card.  Do you see my other Father's Day card in the background there?

What are you working on right now?  I'm feeling very creative lately, but I think I need some new supplies to carry my plans out :)  Maybe I can do some shopping this weekend, you know as a Father's Day gift to myself.  Hahahahaha!

Have a beautiful Wednesday.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow!

Father's Day #1

So Father's Day is coming up this weekend, right?  I always have the hardest time with masculine cards.  I think they turn out alright in the end, it's just the creative process I have issues with :)

The card I'm sharing today is for Mike.

I used my, one and only, dad-ish stamp and some brown ink to stamp the background.  Then I layered on a couple of patterned papers.  To finish the card off I tied on some twine and a few buttons!

Have you started on your Father's Day cards yet?  I have one more I need to work on...  Hope you have a great Tuesday!  Abie has two volleyball games tonight, so it will be a quick dinner and out the door for us.  I'll see you tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by today :)

Back from Vacation!

Good morning everyone!  We're back from vacation and it was fantastic!  It was a whirlwind, but so so much fun!  I want to share a few pictures with you today of our trip and then I promise I'll be back to normal crafty business tomorrow :)

We took the girls to Disney World in Orlando, Florida this year.  It's been our plan for several years to take them when they were this age.  1) because Abie is so old she's completely annoyed with us yet and 2) Landry is old enough that she'll get something out of it.  Mike had been to Disneyland in California, but I had never been to either, so when I walked down Main Street for the first time and saw the castle, it was pretty cool :)

We rode a lot of rides!  I think the longest we waited was 30 minutes.  The look of sheer joy on the girls faces was something we experiences all week long :)

This picture is for Tracy :)  This was taken at Epcot, in their version of Canada.  Ha!  In each of the countries represented in Epcot they have people working from those countries.  We were talking to one of the girls from Canada and she said they come to Disney and work for either a year or two, I can't remember, and live in one of two complexes.  So when you visit Germany, at Epcot, the guy ringing you up, is really from Germany.  Huh.

This picture was taken at Hollywood Studios.  Abie has never been much of a thrill seeker, but she really spread her wings on this trip. Starting with this ride!  We were so  proud of her that she wanted to ride the rides, then that way Mike and I had someone to ride with too :)

We saw lots and lots of fireworks.  Which was awesome.  You can tell Landry is a 4th of July baby, the noise didn't even phase her :)

The girls got to meet lots of characters!

Before we knew it our week was over and it was time to head home.  But we had one more surprise up our sleeve for the girls.  They had never been to the beach before.  We drove about an hour from Orlando and spent some time on the beach.  When we saw the looks on their faces the first time they saw the ocean and then the first time they stepped on the sand and in the water, it was something I'll never forget.

By Saturday, we were all ready to get back home.  When we saw the arch, we were all excited to be back in Missouri, but we still had a three hour drive to Kansas City.  We made it safe, started laundry and got everything unpacked.  Now it's back to our normal life, but we have some AWESOME memories to hold onto.

Hope you have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by today :)  See you tomorrow!!

Mini Album Part II

Happy Friday!!!!  I'm back today with part II of my vacation mini album.

This is the back side of the page I left off with yesterday.  This was a long skinny manila envelope that I covered with patterned paper.

Like I said yesterday, I kept these pages SUPER simple and really just added a punch here or there with a word or two of journaling.

The paper I used was pretty busy at times, like this one, so If I added too much it might have made my eyes cross.

This page I put together, meaning I adhered the two pieces of cardstock together and punched the holes.  The I realized I punched the holes on the wrong end.  To remedy that, I added a piece of paper at the "wrong" end which I had punched with a border punch.

I did the same thing on the other side and voila!  Holes were covered!!

This was the last page in the album and I think it might be my favorite.  I just took strips from all of the patterned papers and adhered them to the back piece of chipboard.

For my back cover I kept it simple and added the same patterned paper from the front with the same border punch.

I really don't have the patience for a mini.  Tracy I don't know how you do it :)  Every time I do a project I feel like I just don't devote enough time to it and then I'm slightly disappointed with the outcome.  This was no different.  Yes, I'm glad it's done, but I'm slightly disappointment in myself and the lack of effort I put into, because I know I can do better.  Do you ever feel like that?

Anyhoo...  Hope you have a fab Friday my friends!  I'll chat with you soon and as always, thank you for stopping by and leaving me courage, in the form of comments :)
