Good morning there friends! It's a new week, a fresh start and after the trials last week I'm ready for it! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and that you're all in for fabulous Monday as well!
My post today is a little something I made for my mom for Mother's Day. Believe it or not my mom is one of the hardest people to buy for. Now I know that whatever I do get her she will be grateful for, just because it's from one of her daughters, but I still want it to be thoughtful. My mom is funny, smart, she has great style, a good cook, she loves like no other and she has one of the most beautiful smiles EVER!
When thinking of what to get her for Mother's Day, it all just sort of fell into place. I had seen this really cool mini picture frame re-done in a magazine a few months ago and then TRACY posted this mini album with this frame on it and told me she picked it up at Michael's. (that's when the falling into place happened) I ran by Michael's and bought the frame, but it was black which didn't fit with my crafty vision AT ALL. So I turned a black frame in to this...
I painted the frame ivory and sprayed it with Coffee Glimmer Mist. Then I took the glass out and stamped on some ledger paper and added a few pearls to it. On the outside of the frame, I added a bit of vintage trim, some leaves and my attempt at a rosette :) I also adhered a bow at the top of the frame for her to hang it.
Well, I am looking forward to a day off of work. I'm taking mom to lunch and am hoping for some crafting time this afternoon! I hope you have a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll chat with you tomorrow!

Kids and Moms
I have a non-traditional post today. Non-traditional for me anyway. I typically post crafty stuff here and while there is a bit of craft in this post, it's not the type of craft you may be use to here. I wanted to share a picture of Abie from Tuesday, in the Emergency Room. She only cried once while we were there...and yes, I snapped a picture.
I don't think she was crying so much from the pain as she was from being overwhelmed by the situation. Can you see all the wood chips on the bed behind her? Her back was covered in them from falling...
I emailed the teacher Thursday to check on her and she said she had to keep telling Abie to not do so much. She was so pleased with her positive attitude about wearing the splint! This just made Mike and I smile, as her parents. The next pictures are of Abie, working on her homework last night...
She has to take the wrist support off periodically throughout the day to keep her elbow from locking up. What better time than homework time to take it off? :)
Bless her heart, she's up on her knees so she can reach the table and her homework. The thing is, she NEVER once complained. What a kid!
When she went back to school, all the kids had made cards for her. This is the crafty party of the post!
I love how colorful all the cards are, the artwork and how sweet the kids were in their sentiments. These are third, almost fourth, graders and they were just so so sweet! Oh, Abie LOVES ranch dressing and I think every single card mentioned something about her obsession with ranch!
As a parent you go through your day to day life thinking you know your kids and then something like this happens and you realize there's this whole other side to them that you didn't know was there. In this case it's an amazing side that I'm so proud of. I made sure to tell Abie last night that I was proud to be her mom :) What an awesome revelation to have the week before Mother's Day huh? A pretty good present to me I would say! Haha!
I apologize for my crafty interruption and we'll be back to regularly scheduled programing next week. I hope all of you moms have a fantastic weekend and if you're not a mom I hope you're able to spend time with your mom for a bit this weekend! Thanks for listening today!

Grandma's Birthday
Happy Cinco De Mayo! It's also my Grandma Jean's birthday today. She is one of the coolest women I know. She always has a kind word for everyone, she's always cleaning, very "fixy", a great hostess, loves to hug, loves her family and these are just a few of the reasons we named Landry Jean after her. Grandma and Grandad moved down to the lake when they retired in 1995 so I don't get to see them as often as I would like. But she and my Grandma Mary would write to me every week when I was in college! We mostly talk by phone now and I will still her cards :) My card today is for her:
I just can't seem to help myself with Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe. I LOVE it so much!!! I tied a bit of tulle around the two floral pieces, mostly because I couldn't find the right shade of ribbon, and added a button card and few other bits to embellish the front.
A little update on Abie. We went to the doctor yesterday and he said she would start regenerating bone within two weeks. She will be in the splint for four to six weeks and should be completely healed in eight. Bad news, no tennis for at least three months. Good news, we can take the splint off to shower! Haha! We will have to take her in to the doctor every week for X-rays. So grateful it's the end of school and her testing is over! I want to thank all of you who commented and left well wishes for Abie yesterday. It meant so much! :)
I hope you have a GREAT Thursday and thank you so much for coming by today!

Teacher Appreciation Part II
Good morning all! We had quite the active afternoon/evening yesterday. I got a call from Abie's school, you know the one we all dread, that she had fallen off the equipment, aptly named The Green Monster, and couldn't move her arm. I took her to the ER and our worst fears were confirmed, she had broken her arm. It's broken about an inch below her shoulder on her right arm. She was quite the trooper in the ER, not complaining, really hanging in there until the Tylenol kicked in. Because of where it's broken, they won't cast it, she'll just be in a splint. We have an appointment today with the Ortho doctor so we'll know more. Mike said, "we had a pretty good run. Nine years without a broken bone!" :)
For today, I wanted to share the gift tag I made for Abie's teacher. I stamped onto the yellow wood grain patterned paper from Basic Grey's Life of the Party. Loving how happy this yellow paper is!
I had Abie sign her name to the tag before she gave it to the teacher, just to finish it off. The yellow really stood out against the Kraft wrapping paper!
Hope you all have a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping by today!

Teacher Appreciation Part I
Morning all! I have a quick post for you today. I saw this project a few years ago in a magazine and have made one before. It was quick and easy and I was just waiting for another event to make one. Teacher appreciation was that event!
I picked up the frame for a few dollars at Walmart and covered the mat with fabric. Then I cut out the B in cream colored paper and matted it on dark chocolate paper and adhered it to the fabric. So easy!
What are your plans for teacher appreciation day/week? Our school celebrates the whole week. Each grade level is providing lunch for the teachers one day. I'm sending this gift with Abie tomorrow.
Well, that's it for me today. Hope you have a great Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by and I'll talk with you tomorrow!

Baby Boy Tag
Good morning! Did you have a nice weekend? We had beautiful weather on Saturday and spent the late afternoon and evening outside with the neighbors. It was a great night. Then on Sunday the weather changed and we had way cool temps and rain in the morning. I'm not complaining, remember my plan for the weekend? To be craftily productive? Well, I was!
One of our neighbors had her THIRD boy on Friday and I whipped up this tag for the gift bag.
I know this may not look like your typical baby boy tag or card, but this is Stacee's third boy and I thought she might like something a bit different :) I cut a tag out with my Cricut and then used it to trace around the image in my vintage children's book. Then I cut out the vintage image and adhered it to the tag for added stability. Then I just embellished away! Loving the way this turned out :)
I hope you have a great Monday and thanks for popping in for a minute!

School
A happy Friday friends :) I thought I would share a couple of layouts with you today. These were from my marathon scrapping session a few weeks ago when I was trying to get myself caught up.
These layouts are both of Abie the first day of second grade and the first day of third grade. It's so fun to see how much she changed in the span of a year!

Do you have any plans this weekend? I have a wedding shower on Saturday and it's supposed to rain all day Sunday. I'm really hoping to be craftily productive this weekend though. You like my new term? I just made that up :)
Have a fantastic Friday my friends, thanks for stopping by today and I'll chat with you soon!

A little tag for your Thursday!
Can you believe it's already Thursday? It's supposed to be sunny today, all day! I'm hoping the weather forecast is right because I'm in need of some Vitamin D!
I wanted to share a little tag today that I made for a gift.
I started out with my base from Bags, Tags, Boxes and More for my Cricut. I cut two tags at 5" and glued them together because my paper was a tad flimsy. Then I cut out my leaves and stamped the text on them. The flowers are from my Storybook Cartridge, I ran them through my Xyron and sprinkled them with lots of Martha Stewart glitter. I love the way this tag turned out!
Have a great Thursday and thanks for coming by today!

Get Well Card
A happy Wednesday morning to you! I hope your week is going well. Things are good here, no complaints anyway :) Do you make cards as you go or do you have a stash of them on hand? I have both but I seem to forget about the cards in my stash. They seem...stale to me. Haha! I needed a get well card this week, for a man, and this is what I came up with up:
The orange and green inks are much more vibrant in person! I really kind of like this color combo, something different.
Hope you have a GREAT Wednesday! Thanks for the visit today :)

3x3 puffies
Well good morning! You know I usually love making 3x3 cards. They're just so dang cute, something about their teeny tininess I just can't resist. A few weeks ago I ran across the perfect companion for 3x3 cards, KI Puffies! They are just the cutest little things. Little teeny tiny puffy felty goodness. They sell them at Archivers and at Michael's. I got a chance to work with mine this weekend and whipped up a couple of little bits of goodness.
I used Basic Grey Life of the Party and the colors were just a bit off for the Puffies, but the cards still make me smile. The thing I really liked about the Puffies were how much adhesive were on the backs of them. I have a few projects in mind for these, I just need to go pick up some more, so you might be seeing more Puffies around these parts in the future :)
One more thing before I head out, I won a giveaway on CONNIE'S blog last week and she sent me some way cool stuff! Check it out:
Thanks so much Connie!
I'm hoping to see the sun today. I need to run by Joann's and pick up a picture frame for teacher appreciation week it would sure be nice to do it in the sun! Haha! Have a fab Tuesday! Thanks for coming by today :)

Sisters Birthday
Hello there, did everyone have a good weekend? What about a good Easter, if you celebrate that? We had a busy weekend but I feel like I didn't get anything accomplished. Do you ever feel like that? :)
A couple of weeks ago I got my latest Papertrey Ink order and it had the Button Boutique stamp set in it. I was so excited to get this set and would you believe I didn't get a chance to play with it until this weekend? It was the perfect set for a birthday card for my sister who sews. She is AMAZING when it comes to the sewing machine. She can make anything, seriously.
Just love that button card! And the Crate Paper line goes great with the sewing theme!
For the inside I used my new Zing Rouge embossing powder, saw this over on Michelle Wooderson's blog and thought it was the coolest color! So bright and it really stands out on the kraft card stock.
Hope you have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by today!

New Banner!!!
Good Morning everyone!!! I'm so super excited today! Since I started the blog I've just never been happy with my banner. I tried some of the free ones out there but I'm a ding a ling and couldn't get them centered. Plus I had a certain idea in my head of what I wanted. A few weeks ago I began looking around for someone to design what I wanted and I found TWO HAPPY MAMAS!!!!
I emailed them and within days Kristina had created the EXACT banner I had envisioned and had it installed! She was a dream to work with and my blog looks JUST as I always hoped it would! If you get a chance, go check out TWO HAPPY MAMAS!
Happy Saturday friends :)

Make it Monday
Good Morning and happy Friday everyone! We are in for a little sever weather this morning, I'm thinking it will pass us and hoping we just get rain. I'm grateful for the rain, but will be glad when the warmer and dryer temperatures are here to stay! My post today is another entry for Papertrey's Make it Monday. You can see the original video HERE. A few weeks ago the challenge was to use one of their impression plates to partially emboss a card and since I didn't have one of their impression plates, I used one of my dies to emboss the card HERE. Oops! Guess I posted that card a few weeks early huh? Well, here is my card for this week!
I used my Turning a New Leaf dies to emboss the Spring Moss card stock. This was also my first time using my Blueberry Sky card stock, it's such a pretty blue, I'll definitely be using it more! A pretty simple card, but I really liked the way the embossing turned out and wanted it to be the star!
Do you have big plans for this weekend? The girls are out for Easter break through Tuesday and we're heading over to mom and dad's Sunday for a late lunch. Today is my sisters birthday :) I don't think she reads the blog, but just in case I'll wait until next week to post her card! I hope you have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by today!

A spring Card
I'm on a spring kick this week. Today I have a spring card to share. This one I made for one of my grandmas. I plan on giving it to her on Easter over at my parents house.
I don't know if you can tell or not, but I stamped the background with Papertrey's Background Basics Text in Versamagic Wheat ink. It looks really cool in person! Then I just started layering. Lots of my new goodies on this one and I had lots of fun making it!
On the home front, we finally had a normal night last night. I'm a sucker for normalcy, I love my routine and after two nights of things being different around our house I was more than ready to get back to our regular deal. It was also sunny out so we were able to get outside for a bit. Abie starts her third and final day of testing today. She has enjoyed it so far, which I'm thrilled about! She also likes going to the dentist :) Lucked out with this one I tell ya!
I'm hoping to get another spring card made again tonight and my sister's birthday is tomorrow so I need to get on that as well! Hope you have a great Thursday! Thanks for stopping by today!

Butterflies!
Happy Wednesday all! Have you checked out PINTEREST yet? Holy cow, I warn you, if you haven't, it's addicting. It's like a virtual bulletin board. A place for you to "pin" pictures and ideas or just things you think are cool or funny. You can request an invite from the home page, which is what I did, and after a couple of days, I was able to have full access to the site. Over the weekend I was perusing the yumminess on Pinterest and came across this card:
It's from http://www.weheartpaper.com/ Isn't it adorable?
Here's my take on it:
I sprinkled the bottom butterfly with Martha Stewart glitter. It's so sparkly!
Here's the inside of the card.
Last week I won a giveaway at Steph's Angel Company Blog. HERE is her card blog. She is also the founder of CARD CUPIDS! She's one busy lady yet she found the time to do a giveaway on her new blog. Here's a pic of my goodies:
How cute are those stamps and I'm super excited about that Perlen Pen! Thanks so much Steph!!!
Alright friends, I'm out for today. Have a wonderful Wednesday and thanks for popping in!
