Father's Day Card #2

Sheesh, can you believe it's Thursday?  I'm shocked at how fast this week is going by!  Today I'm sharing my second Father's Day card.  I had a lot of fun making this one!!

Awhile back Dawn McVey used balsa wood on a card.  She ran it through a die cut machine with her Papertrey Ink dies.  I couldn't find her blog post on this, but I tried to do the same thing.  Um, it didn't work so well for me.  Ha!  What did work well for me was cutting the balsa wood with my Tim Holtz scissors.  I measured with a ruler and snipped right across my drawn line.

Then I stamped right on the balsa wood!  I love the rustic look of this card!!  Plus the options and possibilities are endless!  I'm super excited about this :)

I'm looking forward to the weekend.  I know we were just on vacation last week, but I need a break :)  Hope you have a fab Thursday.  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow.

  3. This is fun! I think I have a piece of this thin wood paper somewhere. I'm not sure I would have thought to stamp on it so I'm glad it works. I need to try this! Only two more days to get through....... :)

  7. I tried the balsa wood with my big shot...it came out ok, but falls apart so easily. I think my balsa was to "grainy". But the card is great.

  8. Great card!
How cool to use this type of wood on it. Need to try to cut some in the cuttlebug, what a neat idea.
