Last minute birthday card.

Good Monday morning everyone.  Did you have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous World Card Making Day Saturday, if you participated?  Ours was a bit of a whirlwind, but enjoyable nonetheless :)

Friday afternoon Abie was invited to a last minute birthday party and while I have lots of cards in my stash, I don't have very many kid cards in my stash.  I always like the gift card to match the package anyway, so even if I had some pre-made I would probably end up making a new one anyway.  So what is one to do when you have a party to get to lickety split?  You go digging through your odds and ends tray!

I keep all sorts of things in here.  Everything from small cards I've made, extra die cuts, small scraps of paper and tags.  Then when I'm looking for inspiration or in need of a quick embellishment I go rummaging through this pile until I find something that jumps out at me!  Back in JULY I made this little embellishment and when I found it in my pile it matched the bag well enough that I decided to make a card out of it.

I simply trimmed down a piece of Core'dinations cardstock to 3x6 and sanded the edges a bit.  Then centered my embellishment right on top.  I'm telling you, making some of these little embellishments at one time can really save you some time in the future!  I had a card in literally seconds, ready to walk out the door :)

I'm really looking forward to my week.  No trainings, no working late, a completely normal week ahead for us :)  Yipee!  What about you?

Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have an awesome Monday!  See you tomorrow!

i wish i had a normal week this week but this one is crazy once again--night conferences--2 meetings after school--won't see the kids for 2 days straight--how horrible is that? YUCK!

Have a nice normal week! I'm hoping for a normal week, after last week's craziness, but I doubt it will happen - AJ's work is going crazy again!

  5. Super cute, Becky! :) I agree that it's hard for me to make to much in advance.

This week is a little out of the ordinary because Erin is finally having that out patient surgery on her foot. But it's supposed to be pretty simple and routine.
Have a good relaxing week! :)

  8. That turned out great! Sometimes last minute creations are the best! :) I do not have any thing special planned this week, just trying to get used to the new schedule of actually working 40 hours. That's adjustment enough! Have a great week!
