Some flowers for your Friday!

Is it just me or did this week FLY by?  Maybe it was being back at work and into a routine but this week zoomed right on by for us.  Seems like it was just Sunday and I was making the most of my last day of vacation and now here we are, right back at the start of the weekend again.  Gotta love that!

So you remember on Monday when I posted Landry's headband, well you can't make for one daughter and not make for the other. :)  Abie is almost 9 and bit too grown up for the big flowers, to hear her tell it.  What's a mom to do?  A few months ago, I saw a rosette headband out in blogland, so I whipped up some rosettes, real quick like.
I just tore my fabric into strips.  The longer the strip, the bigger the rosette.
Tied a knot in one end.
And rolled, and rolled and rolled.  Then I just secured the end with hot glue.  I made four of these in different sizes and then glued all four to a piece of felt, trimmed around the felt and glued the whole piece to the headband.
To finish it off, and hold the whole piece on I added another, small piece of felt, crosswise against the headband.
And here's the grown up almost 9 year old, modeling the new headband!
Excuse her messy, not combed hair :) but this was a really good shot of the headband!

We have a busy weekend planned.  Abie starts tennis up tomorrow and Mike is headed to the Wide Open Motorcycle Show with our neighbor and my parents on Saturday.  On Sunday Mike is having a few friends over to watch the Chiefs playoff game.  My plans you ask?  I have a crafting list a mile long!  My brain has been churning all week!  Plus I'm totally inspired to reorganize my space!  What plans do you have this weekend?  Anything going on or are you planning on relaxing a bit?

Thanks for stopping in today!

You have a jam packed weekend.
No specific plans for me, except scrapbooking night tonight, hoping to get a scrapbook page done.

  4. this is adorable. I made flowers for my girls earlier in the year so simple and easy, but never rosettes.

  5. Super cute! I love these. I somehow caught the organizing bug and I'm planning some reorganizing of my scrapbook room and generally around the house. It doesn't hit often, so when it does, I gotta ride the wave! :) But I'm sure I'll find time to work on some layouts too.
