Christmas Decorations

Happy Black Friday everyone!  Are you out shopping today or are you staying home today like me?  Typically, I spend the day after Thanksgiving putting up all of the Christmas decorations, but this year, due to some plans we have this weekend, we spent all week long putting our decorations up already.  I must warn you...this is a picture heavy post!  So, bear with me as we take a bit of a tour through my home!
This tree sits in our little entryway.  It is 7.5 feet tall and is decorated with little wooden ornaments and all of the homemade ornaments the kids bring home from school.  The garland is a couple of strands of pearls and some raffia.  So easy!

This is the main tree, in our downstairs living room.  It is 9 feet tall and is decorated with all gold ornaments.  The picture turned out a bit blurry :-(
A close up of one of the gold ornaments...
And another gold ornament...

This is my Santa Claus collection.  Every year for the last 16 or 17 years, my mom has bought me a Santa and given it to me on Christmas Eve.  She has carried this tradition on with Abie, who collects Christmas snow globes, and Landry, who collects Christmas trees.  It's so much fun to see what type of Santa she'll come up with every year!

This is our mantle.  I picked this garland up at Hobby Lobby a few years ago for 60%!  It lights up too!  Can't beat that!
Moving on to the hallway, here's a picture of the banister.  This is another strand of garland I picked up at Hobby Lobby for 60% off.  That's way better than a coupon!
This is a Bo Bunny chipboard book I made a few years ago at my LSS.  It was a class they offered.  Every year I say I'm going to put pictures in it, and it still sits empty!  I still like to put it out as decoration though.  It sits on the top shelf in our china cabinet.
This is my collection of snowmen.  They sit in the kitchen window.  It almost looks like it's snowing outside, doesn't it?  Nope, it's just my dirty window!
This skinny little tree sits in the corner of our eat in kitchen.  It was a new addition this year.  It's about 8.5 feet tall and is decorated with cookie cutters and a homemade paper chain garland.
Moving upstairs, this is Abie's tree.  It's about 4.5 feet tall and is decorated with all pink ornaments.  This year she decorated it all by herself!
Landry's tree is 4 feet tall and is covered in all red ornaments.
And finally, the tree in our bedroom.  It is 6 feet tall and is decorated with simple red, green and brown balls.  I only have a tree in here because our bedroom faces the front of the street and I love the way it looks from outside.  There's just something about standing out front and seeing that tree in the second story.  I love it!

Now if you count the two little trees we have on our front porch, we have a grand total of 8 trees at our house!  Crazy?  Nah.  It's just fun.  I've amassed my collection over the years and buy most things AFTER the holidays are over, when they're the cheapest!

I hope you enjoyed my little holiday open house!  Thanks for stopping in and I hope you have a great day of shopping, crafting, decorating or relaxing!

I love to sit in the dark when everyone is in bed and just stare at the Christmas tree all lite up. So relaxing.

  2. Wow - your trees are just beautiful. Now that Thanksgiving is over, I'm ready for Christmas to get here. :) I am staying home today - not brave enough to be out with all the crazy shoppers! I think I will spend the afternoon getting making my house look like Christmas!
