Thank you card.

Good morning everyone!  Did you have a fun weekend?  Mike and I had a very interesting time on our ride :)  Saturday was a near perfect day.  Beautiful weather and we really enjoyed ourselves.  Sunday...well that was an altogether different story.  The forecast was calling for rain, but not until later in the day.  We knew we would be home by then.  We woke up to fog and thunder.  Not a good sign when you're traveling by motorcycle.  Mike had chaps and we both had our leather jackets but he didn't bring his rain gear and I didn't have any.  We left Jefferson City and headed for Sedalia, about an hours ride.  Within 15 minutes my jeans and long underwear were soaked.  I had a tube like thing covered my head (you wear it under your helmet) this was keeping my face warm and dry (thanks mom!)  By the time we got to Sedalia I was soaked to the bone!  We ran into Walmart and bought dry pants, socks and rain gear for my and a second shirt for Mike.  I then proceeded to change my clothes in the Walmart bathroom.  When I took off my wet socks, they were dripping wet and I wrung them out in TOILET!  Seriously, this is how soaked I was.  Let me tell you though, after I changed, I felt like a new woman!  We got back on the road and we were home in about an hour and a half.  Yes it was raining on us, pouring at times, yes it was cold, but I wouldn't have changed a minute of it.  It's all part of the experience of riding a motorcycle.  Mike and I had a blast together and for our first trip out of town on the Harley, it's quite the story!  I said to him, "what's the one thing we learned this weekend?"  He said, "DON'T TRAVEL WITHOUT YOUR RAIN GEAR, NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHERMAN SAYS!!!!"  Hahahahahaha!

So, sorry about that long story, but I wanted to tell you guys about it.  Thank  you for your well wishes and you know what, we DID get home safe and for THAT we are truly grateful!

Now, on to the crafty business!  Last week I whipped up a thank you card for my mom.  She had worked on Abie's costume for the play and it was really fantastic!  I thought it was the best costume there, personally.  I need to post a pic of it, but it's on a different camera.  Maybe later this week?  Anyway, here's the card I made...

I started with a Kraft base and embossed giant white flowers on it.  I love the look of Kraft and white together.  Then I just added a smaller panel to the front and built up from there.

I popped the panel up with some foam adhesive as well as the cloud which I stamped the sentiment on.

You know, last week I was talking to a friend at work about sending a card to someone and my old supervisor said, "Do people still do that?  Send cards, I mean?"  Ack!!!!!  I kind of wanted to flick him in the back of the head :)

Okay, sorry, again, about the long post today.  Hope you have a beautiful Monday.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you back here tomorrow!

Washi tape card.

FRIDAY, FRIDAY, FRIDAY!!!!   I'm so excited today is Friday!!!!  Nothing better to me than a Friday.  Except maybe a Friday that I'm home from work, which is not today, but it's still a good day :)

So you know I've been collecting that Target washi tape, right?  Well I've been using it quite a lot on projects here and there, but I had the idea to use it on a card with nothing else.

I pulled off the strips of washi and lined them all down the card and then trimmed off the excess.  After that I stamped my sentiment.  I had a hard time figuring out if I should put it at the top or the bottom, but finally settled on the top.

Do you guys have big plans this weekend?  Mike and I are taking our first overnight trip on the Harley.  I'm SO excited!  Mom and Dad are watching the girls for us :)  Wish us good luck and good weather!  I hope you have an awesome weekend!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you soon!

Vacation Packages

Good morning!  How are you today?  Things are really good here.  Had a super productive day yesterday, which is always fantastic in the middle of the week, right?  :)

Yesterday I posted pictures of "copy kit" I was working on that I originally saw on Michelle Wooderson's blog.  It was full of stamped strawberries, red and white and aqua.  I just loved it!  When I was working on my kit, I had no clue what I was going to use it for.  Which, honestly, is something I struggle with.  I have a hard time making something when it's not FOR someone.  I really am more inspired, creatively, when I have someone in mind to make the item for.  Do you?

So anyway, after I pieced together some of my kit I decided what to use it for.  These little vacation packages for the girls.

The girls don't know where we're going on vacation this year.  So we bought them a little gift, that's wrapped up in the above packages.  We're going to give them the package and tell them they can use them on vacation and the see if they can figure out where we're going based on what's in the package :)  This is an extra special vacation, normally they know where we're going and what we're doing.

That's it for me today.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Thursday!

WOYWW

Yea for Wednesday!  I'm so happy I've made it halfway through the week, I can't even tell you :)  This week I'm linking up with JULIA over at the Stamping Ground to share my work desk and show you what I'm working on.

I saw the cutest little kits on Michelle Wooderson's blog a couple of weeks ago.  I thought about buying one, but then I remembered I had most of the supplies to make my own, similar, kit FOR FREE!!  :)  What could be better than that?  Now that I'm working on this though, I'm kind of stumped and don't know what I'm going to use it for.  Haha!

We had Abie's school play last night, Tom Sawyer.  She was awesome!  So proud of her :)  Tonight will be a nice relaxing night at home and I have several things I really want to work on in my craft area.  (I keep saying that, don't I?)  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Birthday envelope/tag

Hello and happy Tuesday all!  Did you make it through your Monday okay?  I can hardly believe it's the last week of April.  We'll be into May this time next week.  May!!!

On Saturday, Landry had a birthday party to go to and the little girl is very princessy.  In fact, she told Landry it was going to be a castle party, which wasn't true :), but you know how kids are.  So for the gift tag I wanted something verrrrry girly.

I used a small pink paper bag from Michael's as my base and just built on it from there.  The pink yo yo was one I made awhile back.  We slipped in some yellow Basic Grey paper for Landry to write the to: and from: on.  I thought it was the perfect girly gift tag.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll be back tomorrow.  Until then, have a beautiful Tuesday!

My sister's birthday!

So you know we were having a girls weekend to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday, right?  Well we all had different pieces and parts and things we were bringing to the shindig.  My cousin texted me last minute Saturday morning and said, "can you make a tiara for Jennie to wear?"  I thought, no way, I don't have time for this!  But once I ran down to my craft room, I dug through the girls' dress up trunk and found an old tiara.  I quickly dressed it up and had this...

If I would have had a bit more time, I would have done a better job with the glitter, but I think it still turned out adorable!  She was pretty embarrassed when we made her wear it.

We had a great time together and I think we're going to try and make this a yearly weekend!  What did you do this weekend?  Get any crafting done?

I have a few things I need to work on this week and Abie's school play is Tuesday also.  Thanks for stopping in today and I'll see you tomorrow!

Pretty little gift box.

So happy today is Friday!  I've been lost all week long, thinking Tuesday was Wednesday and Wednesday was Thursday.  Today is Friday, for real!

On Wednesday I posted a picture of my desk and there was a half cut doily on there for my sisters birthday gift.  Well, that doily didn't work.  And it wasn't actually for her gift.  It was to decorate the box that her gift was going in :)

I bought this little Kraft colored jewelry box at Michael's.  I thought about stamping on it and then I thought that might be kind of difficult with all the edges.  Then I thought about wrapping it with the twine and making a tag, but all the tags were too big.  So that's when I headed for the doilies.  The first doily was too small (I'm feeling like Golidlocks here)  the second doily was just right!

I wrapped around the grey twine and used grey ink to stamp the to: and from:.  I love how this turned out!  So simple and easy!

Speaking of my sister, Sunday is her 40th birthday!  I'm trying to be nice here because that will be me in five years :)  In honor of my sister, my mom, sister, aunt, cousins and I are having a girls weekend!  I'm so excited!  The girls each have birthday parties this weekend and I have a bunch of crafty things I want to work on too, so somehow we're going to have to work it all in!  What are your plans?

Thanks for popping in today.  I hope you have  an awesome weekend!  See you soon!

Project Life Week 13 and 14

Okay, this is the last two weeks catching me back up with Project Life.  I worked on these over last weekend as well.

I only had two pictures for this week so in the third slot, I just added a title card.

This was Easter week and I used a Simple Stories insert for the title card and just dressed up my photos with Martha Stewart labels.

Tonight I'm heading to the grocery store and then to get my hair trimmed.  Should be a busy evening!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow with a fun little gift box!  Have a great day :)

WOYWW 150!!!!

Holy cow, 150, is that right?  Congratulations JULIA, on 150 WOYWW posts!  I'm linking up over at Julia's blog today to share my workspace and let everyone know what I'm currently working on.

I've got a couple of projects going on here.  The half cut doily is for my sister's birthday gift, the spools of ribbon and Sharpies are for gifts for the girls, the various scissors are just that, various scissors.  I'm very particular about what I cut with what pair of scissors.  One for paper only (the yellow), one for fabric only (the blue), and one for everything else (the Tim Holtz).  The small white tag, under the scissors, also goes with my sister's gift and I can't really remember why the glue dots are out.  The ATG gun is always out :)  I know it looks boring, but trust me, there is A LOT going on here!  Haha!  What are you working on today?

Can you believe it's already Wednesday?  Seriously, it's April 18th people!  Where is this year going?  Thanks for popping in today and I hope you have a fab Wednesday!  See you tomorrow!!

Project Life Week 11, 12 and inserts!

Oh friends, happy Tuesday to you!  I hope today finds you well!  I was able to work on my Project Life over the weekend and get caught up.  That's one of the things I love about this little project, it doesn't take long to get yourself back on track.  I had all of my photos and of course my calendar full of notes and I was caught up to this week in no time!

Here's week 11

This week I tried something different and trimmed down one of my pictures to 3x4.  I don't usually have extra pictures but this one worked out perfect!

Week 12 insert, front side...

Pretty simple, but gets my point across :)

Week 12 insert, back side...

And, week 12

I am still finding myself struggling with the plain-ness of my Project Life as a whole.  I think it's because when I sit down, I just want to get it done and I'm not leaving myself enough time or taking enough time to make it scrappy.  But when I go back and look at the weeks, I'm THRILLED with what I've done and all I'm looking at is the pictures and the stories.  Weird?  :)

Well, that's it for me today.  Thank you for stopping by today and thank you so much for your sweet comments yesterday for Abie.  She was thrilled!!!  I'll see you tomorrow!  Have a fantastic Tuesday :)

Abie's sketch challenge.

Morning!  Did you have a nice weekend?  Ours went by SO fast.  I love every second of our weekends and I am bummed to go back to work this morning.

Last week I asked Abie if she could work off a card sketch and had her pick one out from my new sketch book.

Here's the sketch Abie picked...

Abie said she picked this sketch because it looked like her bulletin board.  :)

This is Abie's card!  She went with distressed papers and grosgrain ribbon.  If you look closely, she hand wrote the words "olden days" and "memories".  Ha!

This was my card.  I made my card 5x5 because 6x6 seemed really big to me.  I used striped paper to mimic the stripes on the sketch.

Abie and I had so much fun working on this sketch together.  I hope we can do this once a week or at least once a month together.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great Monday and I'll see you tomorrow!!

Pink note cards.

Happy Friday!!!  I'm so thrilled it's the end of the week!  Remember those easy note cards I shared the other day?  Well I made up another set...

This time I chose a pale pink card stock and Momento London Fog ink.  I used my My Minds Eye stamps to jazz up the top of the note card as well as the envelope.  The stamps themselves are distressed and my note cards aren't so I'm  note sure how well they work together, but I do love the color combo :)

What do have going on this weekend?  Mike and I are going to the Royals home opener today.  It's a late game, so we'll both be able to work before the game starts.  I think it might rain tomorrow, so here's hoping I can get some Project Life caught up, right?  :)  That's about it.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and a beautiful weekend!  Thanks for popping in today and I'll see you soon!

Project Life Week #10

Hi guys!  Can you believe it's already Thursday?  This week has really flown by here.  I truly had the best night last night, which I needed.  I was feeling so blah yesterday and I took some time for myself yesterday, after work.  I finished my book :)  I think Mike sensed something because he offered to pick the girls up :) and once they got home Abie and went down to the basement and made some cards together!  We had a wonderful dinner and spent some great time together.  It was just an awesome night.

So I have a Project Life update for you.  You know my plan of working on the weeks and then just slipping the pictures in when I got them printed?  Well, week 10 was the last week that I had finished.  Ha!  I had other projects and things I was working on, then my room re-organization and my Project Life got put on hold for a minute.  But I did get my picture picked up this week and am going to get my four weeks caught up this weekend :)  In the meantime, here's week #10

On my title card, that acetate flower was from a stamp set that I bought.  I trimmed it out and stapled it to my card.  I think I might go back and add some labels to my pictures, but not sure...

In other news...

I picked up the other two colors of washi tape at Target!  I just couldn't resist.  I seriously have used this on all but one of the projects since I bought it.  I figure it's okay because it's different colors and patterns :)

I also picked up these $1 stamps at Michaels and thought they would be great for Project Life!

I have training today for work.  I'm not really looking forward to it, but am going to try and make the best of it :)  Hope you have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by today!

WOYWW 149

Good morning everyone!  I'm linking up today with JULIA over at the STAMPING GROUND for What's on your Workdesk Wednesday?

Today my workdesk is, well, somewhat boring :)

I have some more note cards that I'm working on, similar to the ones I posted yesterday.  Since I cleaned my desktop off, I'm afraid there's just not much to look at, at all!  It's great for working, but not for looking!

What are you working on today?  I have my March pictures, finally, and I need to work on a couple of Project Life weeks.  The nice weather is just killing my craft time, isn't that just awful?  :)  The girls want to be outside all the time and I can't say, "sorry, Mommy wants to scrapbook.  You're going to be denied fresh air today."  Hahahahahah!

I hope you have a fantastic Wednesday and I'll see you tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by today!!

Bicycle Notecards

So the other day I was looking through a magazine, I think, and I came across the most adorable note cards, I think :)  You know how that is, right?  You see an idea, but you can't remember where you saw it or what it was exactly?

Well here is my version of what I think I saw.  Haha!

The aqua paper is cut to 8x4 and I stamped the red Unity tricycle in bright red.  How happy are they?  These are such a different size, they'll be great for sending long notes to friends or grandmas!

I took it a step further and added the sentiment from this Unity set and stamped it on the envelope in the same bright red ink :)

I'm headed back to work today, after taking yesterday off.  It was sure nice to be home for that extra day.  I didn't really get anything done, but we spent a lot of time outside I took the girls to get their ears pierced.  Landry her first and Abie's doubled.

I hope you have a great Tuesday!  Thanks for coming by today and I'll see you tomorrow!!

CFC47

Good morning and happy Monday to you!  Did you have a nice weekend?  It was beautiful here, a bit chilly compared to the almost summer like weather we were having, but still lovely!  I didn't get down to craft until late on Sunday but when I did it was because I was inspired by the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays this week.  I didn't make any Easter cards this year so when I saw thought I would join in.  Especially since it was Easter yesterday and I was in the crafty mood :)  The challenge this week was to create a clean and simple project using something you would find in an Easter Basket.

I chose to make a 4x4 card, in pastel pink and stamped five tiny eggs across the front in pretty pastel colors.

Then I stamped my sentiment and I was done!  Pretty clean and simple :)  It's been so long since I've played along with CAS-ual Fridays and this was so fun!!  I've really missed it!

I hope you have a wonderful day today!  I'll chat with you again tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by :)

Friday!!

Morning!  Quick post today :)  I needed a vessel for a gift card and I've always been inspired by Michelle Wooderson's brown paper sacks.  In fact, if you remember, that's where I bought these sacks from!  Anyway, I fancied this one up quite a bit, slipped the gift card in and called it done!

I stamped some Papertrey Ink stars in Momento London Fog and and then layered on some more Target washi :), I'm loving this stuff, a doily and lots of Neapolitan goodies!

Just a close up :)

Do you have big Easter plans?  The girls are on Easter break today and Monday and Mike is off work today for Good Friday.  I, sadly, have to work :(  But we're still going to have a great weekend!  Easter egg dying, ham cooking and all the usual stuff!

Hope you have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you soon!

Baby tag with Target washi.

Hey there!  How are you?  Things are busy here, but good.  Last night I was just thinking, where does the time go?  Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done that I need to accomplish.

Yesterday I posted a tag that I was working on for a baby gift and today I'm posting the finished tag.

I used Basic Grey papers on this and my new MME stamps.  I love how my new Target washi tape looks too!  I kept hearing everyone talk about Target carrying the washi tape, and my Target never has anything.  But I found it!  It's in the office supply aisle.  You get a four pack for $4.  They have blue, red, green and yellow.  I want to go back and pick up the other two colors!  :)

We're preparing for the weekend, already.  The girls are home tomorrow and Monday so that mean extra snacks and things I need to pick up at the store tonight.  Hope you are having a wonderful week and a great Thursday.  See you tomorrow and thank your for coming by today.

WOYWW 148

Good morning!  How are you today?  Things are good here.  It felt great to get back to work in my space again, especially such a nice clean one!  Today I'm sharing my workspace over at JULIA'S BLOG along with lots of others!

I'm working on a tag for a baby shower gift.  I'm using my new stamps and some new washi tape I picked up at Target.  (have you heard the hoopla about the washi at Target?  Ha!)

Well, I'm keeping it short and sweet today!  Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow!

Finished with my room!!!

Good grief, I thought I'd never finish moving my stuff around!  Whew, am I glad to have everything back in place.  It's always amazing to me what a little re-organizing will do for my crafty mojo!  Is it the same for you?  It always inspires me to create!  What I'm most excited about my space is the fact that my desk is almost completely cleared off.  I don't have a very good picture of it for today, maybe tomorrow?

I moved Mike moved my bookcase over here.  Then I rearranged a lot of the stuff so that the majority of my desktop supplies could fit on here.  I had to sit myself down and have a little talk.  Seriously Becky, this bookcase is one step, ONE, behind your desk.  I think I can turn myself around and grab my glue dots from the bookcase, they don't need to take up room on my desktop :)  I really felt so much better after I gave myself permission to do that!

I also cleaned off the small white desk so now my Project Life album can be open all the time.  I probably won't work on it here because the desk is so small, but I think I'll jot notes down and stick them in the book with it being open like this.

This table got flip flopped with the bookcase and the other big move I made was moving my sewing machine off of it.  It's actually sitting on top of the bookcase!  I've only used it two or three times, and the last time I tried to use it, I'm pretty sure I broke it.  Sewing machines and I do NOT get along :(  I need to have my mom or sister take a look at it...  They are both famous seamstresses and can sew anything (no mom, I'm not just saying that so you'll fix my machine, ha).  Anyway, by moving the machine off my table, it freed up a bit more work space.  For what, I'm not sure, but I like the clean look of it.

Here's kind of a look of my main work space, but you really can't tell how much I cleaned off my desk.  It's just my tool caddy, scor pal, mat and trimmer on there!  So proud of myself!

I'm such a visual worker that I have to have everything out.  If I don't see it, I don't use it.  But the problem with that is that I'm also a neat freak and I don't like things to be cluttered.  I want everything to be put away.  I had a difficult time with this reorganization, but I'm pretty happy with the way things turned out...so far :)

Thank you so much for your well wishes yesterday!  You guys are the BEST!  Thanks for stopping in today and I'll see you back here tomorrow!!

Oy, sick...

Sorry folks, no fun crafty post today.  Mike helped me move my furniture Friday night and we got busy Saturday.  I had plans of getting the room put back together on Sunday, but then I got sick.  Oh so sick, on Saturday into Sunday.  I mostly laid around Sunday getting back to normal and am happy to report that I'm feeling MUCH better now!

I'm hoping to get to work on my room this afternoon, after the girls and I get home, so I should have pics to post tomorrow.

Hope you had a beautiful weekend and I'll see you tomorrow!!  Thanks for stopping by :)
